Cylinders' shape
Cylinders' shape
What I noticed is that the cylinder's end of Titan and AMS are different. In case of Titian it is rather roundish while AMS has more of a "sharp" pointy tip. Does it mean that Titan is less likely to cause an erosion over time?
Re: Cylinders' shape
I looked at both implants in my doctors office before making my choice for the AMS 700LGX. The Titan I saw had noticeably sharper tips than the AMS. And, my tips are definitely round, not sharp, in fact the demo AMS model appeared to have the tips made from a different material than the rest of the shafts and my tips are solid for about the first 1/2". So, based on what I saw and the shape of my own implants, the AMS does not have sharp tips. As for erosion I don't know? I haven't heard Titan owners complaining about the tips? I am just guessing but I believe the tip erosion could be more influenced by improper sizing.
age 74 married, Robotic RP Dec.2009. Implanted Jan 2011 with AMS 700LGX and AMS 800 AUS. (AMS 1500). IPP failed March 2018 , leak. Planning an AUS revision (total replacement) in 2018, now I need the IPP too.
Re: Cylinders' shape
Perhaps I messed up and the opposite is true. AMS is round while Titan is sharp
