Today's Dr. Eid visit (Thurs., 5/18/2023)

My appt was for 11am. I arrived at 10:25 and was through the formalities and in the exam room at 11:02. The staff is the epitome of professionalism. Hell, men sitting on tables with the "family jewels" in view and they keep it serious-yet-welcoming.

Dr. Eid entered the exam room at 11:06. He is long-over his illness. He introduced himself and then sat back and listened to me explain my dissatisfaction with my current implant.

***If you can obtain them, be sure and bring any surgical records for previous surgery; if any exists (assuming, like me, you are there for a revision.

Next, Dr. Eid tried and succeeded in pumping up my existing AMS device. It hurt like hell! He explained the unavoidable calcifications that grew in. He also gave me remedial, hands-on instructions on pumping/deflating.

After about 29 min., he explained my viable options. He did not feel a malleable device was for me. Hell, he's the MD and I'm not so I concurred.

I begin the pre surgery tests in early July. I will keep you all updated as we move to the carving!

I read some of your previous posts, looks like you had not been able to inflate your device but Dr Eid was able to successfully inflate it? So is it malfunctioning or not?

Dr. Eid opined that the device - - although functional via great (painful) effort - - merits revision. He emphasized that implants are not a one device works for all science. The Doctor has used several types of inflatables in the course of his practice; he tells me.

If it sounds like my reply is a "definite maybe" - - quite correct. My difficulty in inflating might be made easier. Then again it, might not via my current device. Time, following Dr. Eid's instructions, will tell that tale. Dr. Eid is not "surgery happy" and that comforts me.

The earliest I can score a berth on Dr. Eid's surgical calendar is late June. My plan to to see if I can ease my inflation woes between now and then. If no significant progress is realized, then the revission will happen.

However, if matters improved, I will press forward with revision. Not everything is absolute. Dr. Eid wisely advised me that revision is beneficial when chronic problems plague a patient.

I do not dispute his professional wisdom.
