How much does the implant hold?

Ok did some research and found out the 21cm long by 12mm wide implant tubes will hold 23.75ml in each tube ( not being over filled, just a tube in that measurement will hold that amount.) That means you have about 48 - 50ml in a "full" implant plus whatever is in the tubes, pump, and residual in the reservoir, so 100ml is more than enough with extra to spare. I don't know how much "wider" the implant gets when pumped rock hard but would figure at most between the two that would take an additional 25 to 30ml?? So 100ml gives you enough for rock hard plus that extra for margin of error. Good to know you aren't short changed provided they fill it to capacity.

I don't now anything acout cc's but my implant will hold a ten-gallon cowboy hat. Also support a full-size beach towel.

But not at the same time. It is not THAT long!

I happened to ask my patient liaison at Boston Scientific what mine weighed. This is her email back:

I don't have a 27cm implant, though, so I'm assuming she meant 21+3.

I have a Titan but I’m sure it’s similar. There is a predetermined amount for each size and they put said amount in reservoir. I had a 20cm. Data sheet that he gave me shows 68-78cc for a 20cm. On the info he put 78cc in my 125ml reservoir so they don’t just fill it up.

I think (but admit I do not know - I am not a surgeon, but this makes sense to me) that they put the reservoir in, nearly empty, fill the implant to 100% and maybe put a little bit extra saline in the reservoir to allow for a bit of penile stretching/growth. And then seal up the system.

In that way, there is no extra saline in your reservoir and plenty enough for full inflation of the implant.

Just my guess. But it makes sense to my engineering mind.

I have a 22cms coloplast titan with no rte. My surgery report says I was filled with 110 mL of normal saline. I would imagine having extra saline should not create a problem against being under filled.

Quoting from my surgery report-

The reservoir was filled with 110 mL of normal saline. Palpation confirmed correct
positioning of the reservoir. The back-pressure test was done, leaving 110 mL of normal
saline in the reservoir at 0 pressure.
The cylinders were implanted distally with the aid of the Furlow cylinder inserter. No rear-tip
extension was used and the proximal ends were inserted. Inspection and palpation
revealed a good fit.

A 50-mL syringe filled with normal saline served as a temporary reservoir. Prosthesis was
inflated and deflated twice. The flaccid appearance of the penis was excellent.
