I have seen the videos of implant surgery when they stretch the penis and measure it. I am an extreme grower , 2inch flaccid goes to 5.5 inches erect and thereforr I am afraid they can not stretch me all the way to 5.5 and lose size which I cant afford. Any grower here who didn't lose size from the implant?

Doctor selection will make the biggest difference, I think. A doctor that aggressively sizes is you best choice. Go to the general section of this forum and open the documents worth reading thread. Scroll down to implants. There are some really good publications on preventing size loss before, during and after surgery. For example, my local doctors all said I would be an inch or more shorter after surgery as did the men I spoke to that had been implanted by them. The doctors were low volume 2-3 a year and seemed to be more concerned about saving insurance companies money than a great outcome for the men they treat.

I agree the Dr. makes a world of difference ... you want an aggressive "sizer" but not overly aggressive where you have issues or erosions problems in the future .. My Dr who is Dr. Carrion here at USF in Tampa Fl. is noted for being an aggressive sizer, his father helped invent the inflatable implant back in the 70's.There is not a good DR. out there that can say for sure how you will end up everyone is different ... I think I might have lost some size but then again I have no seen a natural erection for about 3 years ... so my memory might no be as clear on the size as someone who has had recent erections .... so you lose size not having erections and as you age you have no choice in the matter ./.. G/f saying laying down he looks like he always has .. I also have a fat pad that gobles up some of his length .. many factors involved ... but if you have no erections at all and you have a chance to get something back even it it's just a play toy I'd take it .. my malleable by rigicon has a lifetime warranty ... has tons of good reviews and was the top implant used in india because of the warranty and low cost .. till the main dr. started making his own implants .. I'm hoping for the best and in a few more weeks I'll know if I made the right choice .. I'm happy as far as the pain level getting a malleable from all that I have heard on here .. much smaller cut ..no fooling with your balls or forcing a reservoir up toward your bladder ... not cycling it to get it to go bigger and bigger which from what I understand is something you have to do all the time ... others on here with much more experience with inflatables can chime in with good information ..

There is no reason a grower should lose any length, provided the surgeon knows how to size your penis properly. Proper sizing of a penis involves stretching the inside of the penis precisely as the patient's tunica albuginea (powered by his corpus cavernosum) does (did) naturally. This does require judgement; if you have seen videos of the operation, the measuring is quite energetic - alarmingly so. This measuring requires good judgement on the part of the surgeon which is why a highly experienced surgeon is recommended (or someone training under a highly experienced surgeon and getting his/her experience thereby before opening his/her own practice).

I was a pretty extreme grower and lost nary a hair between pre-op erections (aided by medication and vigorous stimulation) and post-op erection (aided by the implant). Keep also in mind that a small portion of your erection length is the glans/meatus which is independent of the implant. Engorgement of the glans is important for that last fraction of an inch.

My opinion that doctor selection isn't too much of an issue, especially not for size. It is true that a high volume implant surgeon will generally do a better job and the chances of problems are minimized, but when it comes to size, it's really not that difficult.

Can you currently stretch your own dick to 5.5"? If no, start using a VED now. If yes, start using a VED now. Research explains this allows surgeons to easily install larger implants in these patients that best meet their real, natural erection compared to men not treated by vacuum therapy.

I was a grower 3.5 flaccid and 5.5 erect So the doctors can only give your flaccid size because they are unable to stretch to your grower size. So I ended up with a 3.5-inch implant. I want to die and wish I had never done the implant. It is almost impossible to finish intercourse now. They told me to do Penile enlargement for about a year so it is much larger at flaccid size so I can get a much larger Implant. Also, I should have my lig. cut to extend my flaccid size. The doctors can only put in your flaccid size. Think hard about this if you are a grower. If you are a shower you will be your normal size, if you are a grower you will not get to that size again unless you extend your flaccid sizeI have been working on getting a larger size for 4 years now. I wish I had done the ligements cut and the PE first, it would have been a lot easier I think.

Agree with the above, get a good doctor. I was a grower and I am at least as big as pre op… maybe more, too soon to know since its only been 2 months. Girth and length are just as big for me.

I did have filler so ignore my girth, but lengthwise i am just as long, and from all i read at the 6 month mark, possibly get more. I was 6.75 in 2008, pre op i was like 6.1. Ed hosed me over the years, i think its possible that i will gain some of the ED losses, time will tell, totally happy with the implant.

Sorry to tell you that, "So the doctors can only give your flaccid size because they are unable to stretch to your grower size. " is simply not true. Whoever told you that was, frankly, lying. (My opinion, of course, but backed up by a lot of testimony here.) The surgeon typically stretches the patient's penis during the surgery to the same (greatest) extent a natural erection does. Anything less is (my opinion, again) incompetence or timidity.

Welcome to the site. I agree with Lost Sheep on the doctor that you are talking to is just plain wrong. You need to find a really good doctor. No need for enlargement surgery or cutting your suspensory ligament. Best of luck to you going forward with this.

This was my experience. I have Kaiser insurance in CA. I went to the Kaiser urologist and he was very nice. This was my first consultation with a doctor about an implant. He asked me to drop my drawers to take a look. He then (with a gloved hand) held the end of my penis out and said "this will likely be what you'll look like after implantation". I kindly ended our consultation and walked out of there knowing this was not the guy. I asked him directly about aggressive sizing and he said on a scale of 1-10 he would size about a 5 to make sure there was no erosion.

After that consultation, I set up an appointment with Dr. Clavell. His approach was completely different. He said "trust me to get you the very biggest size possible without causing complications down the road". I'm very happy with the outcome, and I've always said this is not a surgery you shop price on. I could have paid $200 out of pocket to Kaiser for an implant, but I paid 100x that for the right one.
