What is recuperation, recovery like??

I have been treated for ED for 23 years.I have been on Trimix for last 7 years. Having to inject increasing amounts of extra strength Trimix. So, the next step is implant. I have heard that implant might result in loss of sensation and length. Would like to know if that is true.
My main concern though, is the recovery period. What are the first 2 days like? First week? first month? At what point did you start inflating (cycling?). When can you do moderate exercises, such as walking, stretching, yoga?

Just choose a good surgeon. You shouldn't lose length, if your surgeon sized you correctly. Sensation isn't affected by the implant.
First week, it is better to lay flat on bed most of the time to reduce swelling. I didn't use painkillers, although my recovery was slow, but no real pain. I was cleared for cycling at 6 weeks. The most pain I had was when I started cycling. It took 2 days, then everything was good.

Well, I’m 2 days out on recovery. When you wake up from surgery the pain is intense. But they have a lady waiting to shoot you up with morphine. I can say the pain has been pretty mild, but I have also just been lying down icing. The main thing for me is if you do a lot of walking around and not icing it starts to hurt.
The other part is trying to hide this erection from family and friends. I have a pretty active social life so it’s a real challenge.

There is no answer to your question, each person is different. You roll the dice and hope you have an easy recovery, but there are very helpful chemicals to help you if you don't.

Dr. Clavell used a nerve block on me that worked wonderfully, but it may not work well on you. I woke up with no pain at all. I alternated Tylenol and Advil for the first couple of days and iced almost nonstop for 4-5 days. That was it.

I'm sure Dr. Clavell did nothing different in terms of pain management for the other men he operated on that woke up to pain and had a harder time.

It's you, and nobody knows how YOU will respond to the surgery.

BUT, 99.9% of the men on this site report that they're very happy with the outcome and the pain is temporary, the boner is forever.

The best answer is that it is different for each of us. We are all different, so it depends on the man and also on the doctor. Doctors differ a great deal on the surgery. Best thing to do is look for the best doctor available to you and question the doctors you are considering. A big point for me is if the doctor does reoperations or not. Reoperations are more difficult and if the doctor is not skilled or experienced enough, they may not do them. If the doctor does not do them find out who men are sent to and that would be the next doctor I would go and talk to. Wait times for activation range from 3 days to 8 or more weeks. And ask to talk to a man who was implanted by the doctor you are considering. This may not be accurate for you though as doctors may have to do more work to install the device on some men than others. Ed causes size loss and you may have some already. VED therapy or exercise has been shown to help with this. There is a good article in the general discussion section of this site in the documents worth reading thread. There are other publications on reducing size loss during and after surgery. Worth the time to do some reading and then ask questions that you have. Glans engorgement may also effect size if it is not occurring. Some men use oral meds or even a gel medication in the urethra to obtain glans engorgement. Some men do have loss of sensation, but most regain it over time. For recovery the best advice is to lays as flat as you can and use cold packs for the first 48 hours. Then gradually increase activity. And continue the cold packs. NSAIdS like Motrin also help with the swelling and recovery if you can take them. Full recovery can take a long time and men differ on how fast they heal. You need to think of this along the lines of knee surgery. You may be able to use it as with a knee in being able to walk but it will take some time to run again. Again all this will depend on you and your surgeon. And how much if any damage you have from injections. No matter what doctor you use you could have a really fast recovery or have one that is more difficult and longer. But we are talking about a few weeks vs. a few months in the pain or major discomfort part. Complete healing will most likely take a lot longer.

I do not tolerate narcotic pain meds well and I only used 2 for my flight home. Had my doctor been close I would not have used any. But that will mean very little to you as even if you use the same doctor that I did we are not the same. The satisfaction rate of this surgery is very high even if you use a low volume doctor that does not do reoperations. Kind of like buying generic vs. brand name at the store. Name brands are many times better but not always and most all the time they are all good. You can also check the show and tell thread above to see if someone is in your area that you can talk to. Another tool is to enter a doctors name in the search function of this site and see what if anything has been posted.

I hope this helps a bit.

With a good doctor you should be the same length, plus or minus on girth. Everyone seems different. Sensation is better for me, i think its because i can be 100 percent hard during ejaculation, and the rest is normal/great because erection is so good.

Healing is also different for everybody, i had it easy. But, i would do it again even if it meant 6 weeks of misery if this end result was the same. Its fing amazing.
