31 Yr Old- Weak Erection With Pills: Next Step?

Hey guys,

31 in my prime and very social. I'm in sort of a maddening position of being able to have penetrate and have sex with max dosage of cialis + levitra but the erection is weak and the whole time I'm feeling like it's not great for the girl and I feel kind like a loser having sex. Occasionally I lose it as well but most of the time I can keep a weak erection. Problems started 8 months ago and very elevated cholesterol is the likely cause (in the 300s) but now lower on medication.

It's not psychogenic because I get the same weak erection when masturbating. a 60-70% at best.

If I don't take pills, I can't get it up or I will lose it.

My doppler ultrasound showed some mild weakened blood flow with Dr. Clavell but he said a pill should be able to help get me to a decent spot, however, all options are on the table and ultimately it's my decision if I want to go for an implant. I tried injections as well and fuck that as a single young guy.

All I know is right now that I don't even want to have sex with these attractive girls in their 20s while competing with studs who bang like a champ. The last two girls I hooked up with haven't shown much interest past the first hookup. Again didn't have issues before 8 months ago when weakened erections started and I couldn't get it up when trying to hook up with a girl I was dating after a few drinks.

I feel like the implant is the way for me to go and I've done a lot of research and consulted with Clavell and EID. Having an in-person with EID in NYC to do another doppler test and get his opinion.

Any thoughts on my situation? I understand that you don't want to jump the gun but this is making me miserable holding back on my dating life and feeling inadequate in the sex department when everything else is great and I'm getting interest from attractive girls.

I sort of want to just go for the implant and stop the negative thoughts and fear of losing a girl every time I have sex.

I haven't had an implant yet but have a lot of trouble getting it up. And am considering implant too. It is depressing so I can empathise.

Do you have morning erections?

Have you tried vacuum pumping to strengthen?
Exercises even if just walking.

Blakoe ring? I used one, but vacuum pumped just before putting it on, and then took the blakoe ring off before meeting partner and i then took pill about two hours before sex. She didn't know.

That's what I did and it worked for a long time.
I try those things and hopefully they'll give you some time and better erections.

For me the implant will be last resort and I am almost there.

I do worry if they can fail. Then what though?

I haven't tried the vacuum pumping. That seems like a band aid to me and I kind of want a final solution at this point.

From talking to Eid and Kramer, implants are easily replaced and there isn't really an issue with getting further revisions. Clavell was a little concerned with tissues weakening over time but Eid and Kramer who have been doing this for decades said that is not a concern and that you can keep getting revisions without issue as long as you use a high volume surgeon who can minimize infection.

Clavell also said there are patients from the 80s who have had 9-10 revisions based on worse implants back then and they are doing fine still. At worse, you might end up with some complications in old age but that is worth it to me if I can have good sex in my prime years.

There is a small risk of infection with each time but there has never been a man that has essentially been end of the road or if so that is extremely extremely rare.

You can keep getting revisions and each implant average around 12-15 years with improving durability in the tech. You might have some that last less but overall should be around that time span.

The revision thing is overblown I think based on talking with these docs. Infection is a bit of a concern but should be a small risk and it can be overcome just a possibility of size loss. Eid's infection rate is .4% and the rest our around 1%.

I talked to a patient of Eid's who got it at 21 and he's 35 now with one revision and said he has a normal sex life.

Well, I feel like I’ve been there done that and can offer some perspective. You honestly sound alot like me the last 10 years.
I’m 41, so the last 10 years up until a year ago I could have sex with 100 mg of viagra or fail sometimes.

Sex is pretty important to me not because of the pleasure necessarily but being able to have a fulfilling relationship is tied to intimacy to some degree. Totally agree. Sure you could work around it some but it's a tough thing to especially when attractive girls have options.

I had a situation much like yours, but in my late 60s. Pills had worked for me for a while but lost effectiveness over time. Vacuum pump with constriction rings did not appeal to me, nor did penile suppositories (though you should investigate their potential for you, in my opinion). I skipped past injections and went for an implant mainly because I wanted to be self-contained. Not having to carry apparatus, syringe, chemicals with me.

The only thing I can think of that you might want to investigate is addressing your blood flow In years past, a surgeon would graft arteries to improve blood flow into the penis. Similar to cardiac bypass surgery. Or you could see if your arterial insufficiency could be improved by diet, exercise, medication or stents.

An implant irreversibly makes you impotent. You depend on the implant for erections. Right now you are like a man who can run a ten-minute mile on damaged ankles but who could have his feet amputated in favor of prosthetic feet and become capable of a 4-minute mile. But if the prosthetics fail, he would be relegated to a wheelchair until the prosthetics were replaced. I made the choice because if the implant operation failed, I was barely worse off than I already was. So, I had virtually nothing to lose. Also, women in my age range were more likely to have the life experiences that would make a repaired man more acceptable and I would not be competing with intact young studs. Nor was I interested in "running up a score" of sexual conquests (not that you are, either). I just wanted to be able to please a partner.

Thanks Lost Sheep. Has anyone else had success with arterial surgery like that or putting in a stent down there? I thought those were more experimental and haven't heard as much about that. But I'd be all ears if people have had success with it.

Glad you can relate. Well so far so good I suppose. Recovery hasn’t been bad at all. I can say for certain about the implant after I get a few conquests under my belt. It’s improved my mental state already not thinking about ED much anymore.
I will come back to tell of my experiences just because I was once in your shoes not long ago and know the anxiety that comes with this decision.
The only thing I’ll say negative so far is the pump feels pretty heavy in my sack. I’m a fairly nimble guy when it comes to running. No offense taken. Just realize that for me the simple solution is to have a girlfriend less than 1/2 my age. Unlike 25 year old me who would cum in :5 minutes, we can happily bang away furiously for a solid hour or more.
