I'm 39 and at a point where pills are very unreliable, I've been using for 11 years. The reason i want an implant is so i can date, be in a relationship, i haven't been in a relationship over a decade, is absurd. I'm a good looking guy, decent physique. I get looks from ladies now and then, yet always afraid to date cause I don't trust the pills and I know I will have erectile issues, cause it has happened before
I recently got some trimix and i have used 3 times, it works good, but my concern is scar tissue. I'm hispanic, i think people with darker skin are more prone to scarring.
I could get the implant next year, pay a few thousand after insurance, probably $6000-7000 and enjoy life, finally date, hopefully be in a relationship, have daily sex, etc
Or I could keep using trimix occasionally and if i ever get in a relationship, let her know my issue and use trimix sparingly
A part of me wants to exhaust trimix as much as possible before i move to the implant, but scar tissue concerns me which could make the implant surgery difficult, also the risk of peryones
If I get the implant and I get 15 years out of it, which may not happen, I'm still going to be young about 54, I will need another implant then, this is all assuming it even lasts the 15 years
If you do the implant and it fails, has to be removed, you wont be able to go back to trimix which was working before, if you aint got money for a revision or insurance wont cover, you wont be able to go back, youll have to go to india and have a malleable put in
but getting an implant at 50+ who wants to play at that age, maybe i should get it now while im still in my prime and have higher chances of dating while i look better, younger
even if trimix allows me to have sex in a relationship, it wouldn't be the same, is very inconvenient, always concerned about priapism, concerned about scar tissue, etc
Get an implant now or keep using trimix

Normally if you get an infection. The inflatable is removed & a malleable is put in while you're sedated & opened up.
In 6 months or so. You can decide to keep the malleable or have it exchanged for an inflatable.
In reality, if you use a dr that uses the latest surgery technics, you have your blood glucose under control. Your infection rate is quite low. You also need to use the pre surgery soap
I asked my drs staff several times about his last infection. They told me everytime that he had 1 last year. The guy was in marginal health.
My best guess is that puts him around the .5% rate. I felt that wasn't bad because I could control most of that guys risk factors.
For what little this might mean to you. He successfully implanted a 101 year old man that had just married a 90+ year old woman. His lab work was excellent.

I'm 54, and if my wife was up for it, I would be fucking her every night of the week.
So, don't assume you won't be interested in that revision in 15 years.

IMO stick (no pun intended lol) with the Trimix till it doesn’t work. Surgery is a big step that you can’t reverse if you aren’t happy with the result. I was implanted in October 2021. Long recovery and a botched tubing placement that I’m getting fixed someday. Trimix was working fine for me. I miss the turgid fullness of a blood filled cock and regret being impulsive and jumping to an implant when I didn’t really need it. 90 minute to 3 hour hard ones, carrying and stowing your needles and Trimix is a pain. I have performance anxiety and Trimix allowed me to relax and have excellent Sex. Experiment with getting great results using the lowest dose you can. I got it down to about 60 minutes, and sometimes after coming lost my hard on because the shot didn’t work which I think was because the shot didn’t take for some reason and I was able to have sex via a placebo effect.
The implant works fine but if I get a bit distracted or anxious I lose my engorgement (my surgeon left a lot tissue which allows me to get a full thick cock) then it’s a plastic skin covered fuck tool. I can still come when it’s like that but it’s not the same to me.
If you do decide to get implanted then make sure you get a high volume specialist like Dr Perito, Kohler, Clavell, Kramer, Eid etc
I’d still wait, you’re young and the implant is always available if Trimix stops working or causes scarring.

Re: Get an implant now or keep using trimix
I used tri-mix. I have a very active sex life and I know I overused, which may be why I started to require more and more for it to work.
I got the Titan and I love it and prefer it compared to the trimix. No needles to carry around. No issues of a having to overuse the medicine. No risk of scarring over time.
I’m 54 and have as much or more sex than I ever have. Mostly with women in the 35-45 year old range. All comment about the stiffness and ability to maintain the erection. I’ve had nothing but positive experiences.
If I had to do over again I wouldn’t have waited as long as I did.
If you’re close to a great doc you can go in for a consult or do a telemedicine call with one. Get all the facts and make an informed decision. I used Dr Hakky in Atlanta and had a great experience. He never pushed anything or tried to sell me on the surgery.

I'd stay with Trimix because this is a once it's done, it's done thing. I took Trimix for about 5 years or more and I have no scaring. It's a very small needle, insulin needle to be exact, and you carry your injection site once on the left next in the right and so on. I could only do it on the right because when I took it on the left it didn't work, so after 5 plus years of injections on the same side I had no scaring.

Hi JohnHC, if heard this a few times now “stay with Trimix because this is a once it's done, it's done thing” - but i have heard alot more say i wish i had done it sooner. Did you just like the trimix more or did your recovery/ results make you say the same?
Just curious, i wish i had my implant at 18

Re: Get an implant now or keep using trimix
The decision to get the implant isn't an easy one. Human nature just keeps us trying band aid fixes hoping something changes. Unfortunately for many guys ED is progressive as we age. If ED starts at an early age, it is most depressing.
There are things to consider on every level. Will pills cause side effects? Will Trimix cause scarring or pyronines? Will I get an infection from an implant?
For me, Viagra caused migraines, Trimix made me ache, neither were reliable after a short time using. If I would have had all the info in my brain about ED that I do now, I would have had the implant done before taking the first Viagra. Just my 2¢.
