Is this the end of my IPP?

Postby subhash » Tue Aug 08, 2023 2:11 pm

Since the last one week, my pump is giving a lot of problems.
Earlier I could hear the 'poop' sound immediately and inflating was never a problem.

Now that sound simply does not come and it does nt inflate.

Since I am at a time I need to use it daily , I do a lot of troubleshooting like squeezing the relation block, then the deflate button, then giving the pump a hard squeeze etc. After going thru this several times, inflation becomes possible. It has become quite an ordeal to inflate it.

So now I leave it partially inflated, and then pumping is not a problem at all.

I really cannot understand what is the matter. I am currently in Thailand and my dr is in India.

I do hope and pray this is not the end of the implant
Of late, I have been pulling the pump down often.

Not sure what could have happened with your pump, but what you mentioned about pulling down the pump concerns me. Many doctors recommend pulling it down for only 2 or 3 weeks after surgery. This when the doctor notices that the pump is too high. After completely healing, you should not do it.
Your tubing may have been pulled down and some kinking happens. When you squeeze, you need to make sure that pump orientation is not causing any kinks in attached tubing.
Hope everything goes well with you.

Contact your AMS rep. The rep is the one that most times is in the OR and provides the devices. They have a lot of training and fixes that are not in you DVD that was in your packet. When I was having trouble I contacted one and was given a fix that had me up and going in a few minutes. It may take a while for the rep to get back with you. The AMS 700 dvd is on line and has a trouble shooting guide section you can view at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qwp0YfSLxIU

Hi Subhash, have you tried reaching the manufacturer's customer care? They might be help you with a surgeon off-shore by simply demonstrating or troubleshooting the problem?

Secondly, Did you try reaching your doctor's team? They might be able to do the same as the customer care over a video call, since you are traveling.

I'm guessing your implant is still under warranty, you should visit your original surgeon in any case of repairing or replacement. So that you don't have to bear any further expenses.
