I was implanted a week ago yesterday with a Coloplast Titan One-Touch. Infrapubic implant and still feeling a bit of pain, more than expected.
Back story, I've had issues with urinary incontinence for over 20 years and impotence for about 13 years at 52 years old. 20 years ago I developed lower back issues with my L4 and 5 which I attribute my issues with. However, since my surgery, I've noticed a LONG standing issue I never gave much thought to and have been researching a little. My pc muscle stay clenched constantly. An issue I've dealt with since I was a little boy. An issue that may have been a contributer to both incontinence and impotence.
Since my surgery, I've noticed an extreme tightness around the base of my penis, a painful reminder that those muscles are clamping down on top of something foreign. When the pc muscle relax, after having gone to the bathroom, the pain subsides for a few minutes giving me a brief relief before the pain starts building again. The swelling associated with surgery seems to have passed but a bulkiness in and around the incision seems more than it should be. I was not left inflated to any degree after surgery. Is it possible that the forever cleched pc muscle could have pushed out the tube from the root of my penis? Has anyone else experienced a tight pain at the base of the penis during recovery? It feels like when a rubber band is left on a wrist for way to long. It's a dull, yet sharp, internal pain with external burning.

Re: Recovery Expectations
Although I don’t have your same experience it sounds like you are describing “Pelvic Floor Dysfunction” which is really more of a catch-all term for a bunch of issues rather than a particular diagnosis.
There is a category on this forum that includes that and some guys on here that have experience with it.
Hope FrankTalk is helpful for you. It is for me.

I wouldn't over analyze it. I am Six months post op with Titan XL. I had pain and a lot of swelling/bruising for about 3 weeks so I think it's t0o early to think something is wrong. The tubing, cylinders and other devices in there are quite robust and designed to be moved around and handled. Your body has been invaded and takes time to adjust. My scrotum was like a volleyball for two weeks. Even when the swelling went down, it still looked and felt like a war zone. A few days later, it subsided and I began to get back to normal.
I know how you feel, nothing seems right. Please give it some time, Ice that puppy whenever it hurts and use the pain pills. I had no pain at all after a couple months. Things will get better. PM me if you need more info or support.

I was in excruciating pain for the first 2 weeks or so. Give it time, take the meds to manage the pain. You just need to rest and recover at this point.

Your experience sounds like mine last week. I was implanted 15 days ago. Everyday now it’s better. I felt the tightness at my base too. Lots of scary new sensations. I can feel hardware at different places and I’m getting used to it. I hope that your recovery goes as well as mine. Take care.

Re: Recovery Expectations
I'm 66 yrs old, my wife passed 1.5 years ago, viagra was a big headache, and by 4-1-2022 I tried Trimix for about 1 year and just never really used it on women as it was never erect enough for penetration, and try traveling with the stuff, just no success with it. So on July 18th 2023, made an appointment with Dr. Hakky, he didn't try to sell me as I was there and said "let's go - when is the next opening? He suggested I VED for 3 weeks at least ( prefers 4 weeks), Medicare covers the entire cost!
8-8-2023 was the beginning of what I hope was the end of this issue but I know things will be different. My dog hopefully will see I'm not struggling with masturbation that's a plus too
I met a girl on Filipino Cupid in April of 2023 and went to the Philippines in June. Lovely woman of 49 yrs old. After a week we got intimate but as expected the Trimix got me to 60% erect good maybe for a blow/hand job-but sex forget about it. Plus she's into sex, so it was disappointing all around. She was ok with it, I pulled up the implant videos and showed her what I want to have done with an implant. All she said, was if it's safe for you then I'm ok with it. Really nice indeed. Since then I've chatted with her daily and plan on another visit 12 weeks from now - well give it a go.
I had my surgery on 8-8-2023, Dr. Hakky- is a really cool doctor who knows his stuff and does tiny incisions, I went to a brand new surgical hospital in Atlanta Area and the surgery went really well. Last night pain was low, and today there's like no pain at all. Seems the worst of the pain will come after all the dressings are removed on 8-11-2023. The implant was Coloplast 22cm, titan zero degrees angle.
So that's the facts, I'll follow up when something changes/ happens ...

Re: Recovery Expectations
Just got back from the docs. Everything good and I feel good about what I see and feel, just in pain that wasn't being managed too well. He prescribed me gabapentine with the muscle relaxer from yesterday and use of some lidocaine cream, I'll survive. Just hope the folks at work will. LOL.
Thanks all for the words of encouragement. Being a last resort operation, a botched outcome scares the sh*t out of me.

Re: Recovery Expectations
Had my surgery on June 21st.
The first few weeks are confusing, painful, anxiety-inducing with occasional and "what did I do" moments.
Good news is after 6 weeks(individual timeframes may vary)..things start to get really better.

Re: Recovery Expectations
hey Chris - good advice from Randall.
It is far too early for anything but comfort care. You are bruised internally as well as externally (badly) - try to chill, ice, heat, repeat, and don't overdo it by pushing yourself to get back to normal too quickly.
It may help you to know that I and many others didn't fully love and appreciate our implants for months while we acclimated and stretched (cycling the implant). It's a process we all have to go through, some have it easier than others but we all get there.
Good luck my brother and I can't for your 6-month update. I hope you post an update right in this same thread so newcomers can see how far you've come.
The urinary issue is muscular related I would think - there got to be exercises/physical therapy for that?

Re: Recovery Expectations
Wow... almost at 4 weeks and no pain finally. I have a follow-up Wednesday and I get to inflate for the first time. I'm crazy excited.
Pump is attached to the side of my scrotum wall so I'll need to work on that before everything is 100% but I'm feeling really good about all of this. Currently, pumping causes some pain as is its sandwiched against my left testicle.
Everyone's encouraging words helped a lot. For some, you have an easy recovery, others of us, not so much. My recovery was debilitating for nearly 3 weeks. So, yeah, everyone's encouraging words really helped me get through the anxieties.
Thanks all.
