Hello, I have surgery scheduled with Dr Hakky on 9/12. I live in Tennessee and have a 3.25hr commute to ATL. Im thinking of staying for a couple of days instead of shooting up and racing home. Ive taken the week off and my wife, who is a remote worker will be with me.
For those that stayed over, where did you stay? I have a mess on Hilton points but was also thinking of getting an ABB/VRBO.
Thoughts?

He is in the Buckhead region of Atlanta. There are dozens of great hotels in the area. There’s a Hyatt family hotel called Thompson Atlanta right next to his building that is very nice.

Will Dr Hakky be doing your surgery in the hospital or his office? If you have insurance coverage, he typically does the surgeries at Northside Gwinnett Hospital which is a different part of Atlanta from his Buckhead office. That may impact where you want to stay.

Northside Gwinnett, my wife went ahead and got a VRBO.
We have a plan, go to the grocery store to stock up, jump on the innerwebz and chill ut for a few days. Gonna be an adventure LOL

Hakky did my revision. Got up the next day and felt so good I drove 4 hours home. He's the man.

I just figured closer to the office might be better. If there’s an issue the hotel is a couple thousand yards away from his office. But closer to the hospital should be good too.

Hakky will be peeling my banana the same day as you. If you see a chubby dude wearing a Boston Red Sox hat don't hesitate to say "hi",my name is Tom. Maybe we can exchange war stories after he dissects us,lol.I live in Florida and I'm flying in on the 6th as that is my pre-op date, I'm staying at the Home2 Suites by Hilton Atlanta Perimeter Center for the first few days and then figuring out where and how long I'm staying afterwards.
