The decision is here. I’m going bionic! My wife is totally on board. Based on schedules I’m looking at February 2024. My search begins now and I am willing to travel anywhere within the US. I will be self-paying.
Would some of the self-payers out there be willing to share what they paid and with whom? Just want to finalize all expectations.

Same as ThailandBound.
Same doctor.
Same price.
Same recovery. (easy)
Different implant (more expensive, but he doesn't change the price)
Same result. Beyond happy.

As I recall, Perito claims that he's the highest volume surgeon in the US. Also it takes him 20 or 25 minutes per implant. Personally, if given the choice, I would go w/ Eid for the approximate same price.

Additionally, Perito’s high volume translates to a bit of a cattle-car feel operation. When I consulted, the waiting room was packed. From the time i arrived at my scheduled appointment to actually seeing his was over 2 hours. (doppler ultrasound included). The staff is working at a fast pace with little time for pleasantries.
Once in to see the doctor i did feel like i had his undivided for about :20 minutes and just like his videos, he’s confident and friendly. Then he’s gone, understandably , to the next guy. It had a bit of a conveyer belt feeling to me. I guess if your the highest volume guy this is how you streamline. But it overall lacked a certain warmth in the experience.
When my insurance would not pay, only then did i consider Dr. Clavell. $9000 cheaper. His video consult was unhurried (1 hour), but his staff unfailingly polite, responsive, and helpful. Day of my surgery, he installed 5 implants. 1 was first to go. He makes only brief appearances before and after the surgery, but was relaxed and helped me feel relaxed in turn.
I’m very happy with the results. Wouldn’t change a thing.
