Good implant surgeon with Sharp Hospital in San Diego?

Postby goose1235 » Wed Sep 27, 2023 6:28 am

Im going to be under my employers insurance plan, so Im pretty limited in which surgeons I can see. It looks like Im stuck with Sharp Urology but I dont know who can perform a proper implant. The other choice is I could pay for private health insurance and choose my surgeon…but Its very expensive, and If I can find a good surgeon under Sharp insurance I will be fine. Im quite young if that matters at 25. Been battling this for two years or so, and its time.

Brother,
I would highly recommend you select your surgeon VERY carefully.

This is an operation you do not want to have done by a Doctor who does this part-time.or is not world class.
I don't care if it takes more money....

Spend it.

My Doctor told me horror stories of revisions he had to correct from surgeons who screwed up their patients.

Do NOT go cheap on this.

Best wishes

P.S. My Doctor is in my profile.
Highly recommended.

Agree completely - it is very important to get it right the first time because revision surgery is higher risk. I've been through it and glad things are much better now, but it would have been much smoother the first go around.

If you are trying to stay in San Diego, highly recommend my surgeon at UC San Diego.
Radical Prostatectomy in 2015; failed pills, straight to Coloplast Titan in 2019 by Dr. Valenzuela in NYC, Replaced with AMS 700 CX in 2022 by Dr. Darshan Patel in San Diego, CA. Wish I jumped to an implant even before prostate cancer!

Agree with the above posters I would go with a high volume well reviewed surgeon even if it's expensive. I would rather be broke with a dick that works great than rich with one that doesn't especially at 25 to each their own though.

Yes I was considering Dr Patel. He seemed very, very informative and had no qualms about doing surgery on someone my age, whereas dr. Hsieh did. Good to know that he did a good job. UCSD also takes sharp insurance.
