My husband had implant surgery done this morning, and is resting at home right now. The surgery began at 8:05AM, and at 9:20 the surgeon met with me to discuss results. There were no problems. The implant was an AMS MS Series, which the surgeon said is the newest model that also increases length. I have not heard of this, and have had no time to look at the literature that came with it, or research it online.

He is packed up in dressing and has a urinary catheter, which I'll remove tomorrow morning. His pain was at a 4 when I went into the recovery room at 11:05AM. By 12 noon they authorized release. Can't tell you how much this surprised me, I expected an overnight stay or at the earliest, release later tonight. My husband is 56 and in good health. He made it about 50 steps from the car to the couch requiring little or no support but is sleeping like a log right now.

He was prescribed 10mg/325 oxycodone/tylenol and levofloxacin. Will give reports and seek advice from you folks if conditons warrant. Also surprised that first followup visit isn't for 3 weeks.

Mark IV,
The LGX MS (Monentary Squeeze) is the pump in his scrotum.
He most likely got the AMS LGX that will increase lenght and girth over time.
That is what I got on the 27th.
The "owner manual" refers to the pump.

Good luck and I'm sure you'll both be pleased with the results. I had a lot of sweling which kicked in on Day 2 and lasted about 10 days. But, I had very little pain and only took two of the pain pills I had.

Like your husband, my first checkup was 3 wks out and then at 6 weeks I was able to start using it. At 3 mos now, it is still sore wh'en fully inflated.

If it weren't for a pnicillin allergy I would have been discharged soon after surgery, but with allergy I go a 23 hour stay for IV antibiotics. Watch out for the oxycodone containing pain killers they can cause constipation.

I am now 8 weeks out from implant surgery and doing well. First followup at 2 weeks, next at 6 weeks. Released to sex at the 6 weeks checkup, though cheated some after 4. It depends on healing rate. Keep scrotum elevated, recliners are not the bess for this you can actually end up with that being the low point. Flat on back in bed with pillows under butt and add support under scrotum. Worked wonders for me, two days of this and no noticable swelling.

Watch out for the oxycodone containing pain killers they can cause constipation.

My doc's post-op instructions included one to use stool softeners to avoid constipation but I did use any stool softeners. I eat very little red meat, and mostly eat chicken or fish. I have observed that I only get any constipation the day after I eat red meat, never after chicken or fish. So after my surgery I made sure not to eat red meat. I also took probiotics pills from my local health food store while taking the antibiotics post-op as the antibiotic drugs can kill off your good bacteria and cause yeast infection problems. I took the oxycodone for four days post-op and had no problems with constipation. Maybe the combination of no red meat and the probiotics helped me avoid that problem.

Everyone...please be careful with using the oxycodone....I took it as prescribed for about 4 or 5 days and ended up with constipation so bad it felt like some a construction crew emptied their concrete mixer in my bowels....bad, really bad. No matter what, I will NEVER take that stuff again!

Plus there is some potential for accidental addition with those narcotic pain killers. A few years ago the resume of a software engineer who I had worked with 9 years before when we were employed by another company came across my desk. He had done good work at our previous employer so we brought him in for an interview. He was a little spacy and did not recall having worked with me at the other company. Then he said that in the meantime he had some facial surgery and became addicted to the pain killers post-op. At the time of the interview he was in a half-way house for recovering addicts. This guy was an MIT graduate and the last person I would have expected to become addicted to pain killers. So do use them as needed but be careful.

Hey Men,
I have been told OxHydro isn't addictive by my various medics. I have used it many
years but have never used more than 1 a day for 3 days and that was in the past few days.
It is the only thing that works for a severe neuropaty attack. Oxy doesn't work as well. My new
neuro said he doesn't like continuous usage but at my age he will accept. Have tried a lot
of different pain relievers with this disease to no avail. Just my input. Ron
