Surgery 11/10 - Nervous and scared

Postby SunsetEyes1977 » Tue Oct 10, 2023 5:26 pm

You guys are helping me get through some of the anxiety but it's wearing on me.

Fears: Pain, possible infection, loss of length (though I know if I use a VED - it will help). Also, potential loss of glans... I'm concerned about painful sex after the operation due to this.

Any advice or suggestions will help. Thank you.
46 yr old. Married swinger. Implanted AMS 700 in Nov 2023. ED started in mid 40's with diabetes. TriMix worked but had scar tissue.

Ask your self this question. Do you have anything to lose if you get the implant and things goes wrong? If your answer is NO than don't worry and relax.

All of your fears are justifiable. All any of us can do is weigh benefits vs. risk, make a decision based on where you determine that scale leans, then let go and let god.

I knew if I could never have a boner again, I would have a hard time accepting that MY life was worth living. I am shallow, I love my sex life (alone or with someone), and sex has always been a part of my identity. It's shallow as I said, but it's me, I accept it.

I never doubted my decision but had the same fears you have and did it anyway. In the end, it's probably what most men do.

Good luck and keep us posted, excited to hear from you around 11/13 when it's done!

Dude, i just got so put out with having to have quickies i just said screw it. Lol..If its not working what are you out? I had some nerve damage and reservoir issues which required me going under the knife again. But even with all that id do it again in a second! This things rocks. But one thing i would do diff besides the dipshit surgeon being diff, is id go scrotal instead of inphrapubic route. Less chance of nerve damage. Pain was about a 2 to 3..not bad at all. Good luck.
Implanted June 2022..Ams cx 24cm 2 rt EX

I had that same anxiety and was nervous as all hell before my surgery. I went bionic 8/3/23.
All I have to say is I just went on a weekend getaway with a female friend and we had sex all weekend. She came multiple times each night. That has never happened to me. She also got on top and rode me and it was the best feeling in the world watching her ass bounce up and down knowing I won’t go limp and I can last as long as I want. There isn’t a price for that feeling. Definitely feel like a man again. Good luck on your surgery!

Yes, anxiety is one of the worst feelings not knowing what the outcome will be.
Pain- there are drugs to help that
Infection- the rate is like 1%, and I suspect some of those are from lack of good aftercare
Loss of Length- I think most length loss is from fighting ED for a long time instead of getting the implant
Glans- if they swell when you're aroused now, they will swell after implant. May take a few months to heal first
Sex- at first you might have pain/soreness. By 6 months you'll be using it like your own natural penis. By one year it will be a part of you, except reliable every time.
Don't read too much into all these posts stating problems, pain, revisions, etc. There are thousands of guys out there who have an implant and have never said one word about it, much less post on a forum like this.
Best of luck. You can do it.

You’re close enough now to accept that it’s happening! Stop worrying and leave it in the hands of the surgeon. Hopefully you’ve picked a great on. At this point it’s just wait it out and get thru the few weeks after surgery and start enjoying it. It’s a slow process to get back to total comfort but oh what a feeling to not worry about loosing it. There are thousand a of car wrecks a day and people get killed all over the USA every hour. Do you worry about getting in your car and driving to work or across town? Get thru the surgery and deal with any isssues after you actually have them .
