Bionic brotherhood, here I come.

Just got the call today.....insurance has approved and I am scheduled to receive my implant on Nov. 1. My surgeon (Dr. Frederick Taylor, Columbus, Ohio) is one of the recommended Coloplast practitioners and he has been a fantastic doc through my struggles with ED. Many years of pills with limited success finally went to Trimix about 6 years ago. The shots work (sometimes too well) the majority of the time, but it kills any spontaneity and is almost always painful after the fact. I'm nervous but feel fortunate that my issues thus far have been minuscule compared to what many men on this board have dealt with. Some of you guys are heroes in my book having overcome so much!
My goal is to keep my progress updated and be available to answer any questions for others walking the same path.
Dr. Taylor specializes in the Coloplast Titan but has said he is comfortable with the AMS products as well. Based on the fact that his preference is the Titan and the opinions of many here on FT, I'm going with the Titan.
Over the next couple of weeks I'm going to try to get some good "before" measurements and pics so that I have a good baseline for comparison. I've read all the threads about sizing and I'm trusting him to make the best choice for me size-wise. I'm starting with roughly 7.5" length and 5.75" circumference mid-shaft. I've always had a large glans and hope that remains after the procedure. Obviously would not mind picking up a little girth if my anatomy allows it, but I would be totally thrilled to keep exactly what I have.
Any thoughts, advice, or encouragement will be greatly appreciated. I'll share all I can to help the rest of the brotherhood out.

Welcome to Frank Talk. Congrats on scheduling your surgery to become bionic.
Pills and injections were the worst methods if you ask me. Hated having to schedule sex, and the side effects were bad.
Can't say if using a VED will help maintain size as the true measurement is done while doc has you on the table. Many do say they have used one prior; it sure can't hurt.
Best advice I'll offer is prepare for a couple weeks of lazing around healing up. Books, movies, food, ice packs, and a comfy couch or recliner are all nice to have items. If you have questions you can't find an answer to here, post your own. All the guys here are friendly and helpful.

Currently waiting for the phone call from the scheduler with my scheduled time for tomorrow. Up to this point I haven't had the least bit of nervousness but that is different today. Just what I think are probably normal feelings with less than 24 hours to go. Did some Trimix aided measurements over the weekend........Bone pressed dorsal length 7.75" with good glans engorgement and 5.75" of girth. Didn't bother with flaccid measurements as I tend to vary a great deal.
Getting the overnight bag packed and the pre-cleansing with hibiclens done this evening. Counting the minutes and waiting for the final call.

I have two friends that had AMS, And I have a lot more girth with my Coloplast Titan.
Check with your doctor about using a VED "prior" to surgery. I did twice a day for 20 minutes, for 3 weeks before my surgery.
If you have more questions, you can PM me any time.

Dr Taylor did my implant on Sept 20th. He is a very good surgeon and is very compassionate and thoughtful about patient comcerns. Nothing but good things to say about my experience with him. Just had my follow up on Friday and he told me hopefully I dont need to see you for 15 years lol. You are in good hands and have nothing to worry about. Enjoy becoming bionic

Id be worried about using a dr from Columbus Ohio. There is nothing good from there. My advice, go online and look up SEC Country. Pick a doc from there. Everything is better in SEC country because it just means more here! Lol.
Go to walgreens and get the warming and freeze packs. You can use the same pack for heating and cooling, I found these much more comfortable than frozen peas and vegetables.
Amazon: “David Archy briefs” order a size smaller than your normal size. These underwear are the bomb.
Lastly, dont freakout when you first unwrap your traumatized penis, it will look pathetic and sad. It will get better with time.
