First, I keep hoping that there will be some new drug discovery that will make an implant unnecessary. Anything on the horizon? Nothing so far has worked to facilitate vaginal penetration.
Somewhere I saw info about rigid implants that were inserted from the side of the penis. Anyone have any links to that product?
Before going with an inflatable implant, I was thinking about going with a rigid implant -- simpler, less that could go wrong (?), more easily replaceable, lasts longer? Any thoughts?
I've heard that use of a vacuum pump before surgery to increase length. Is there evidence for this?
If I go with an inflatable, sounds like the best product currently available is the AMS 700 LGX -- helps with both length and girth.
Thanks!

Welcome to the forum.
Aside from the “side insert implant”, of which i personally have read nothing, (should tell you something), there is an abundance of information on the information you seek on this forum.
There is a search box at the top of the page. Insert your topics of interest and dig through.
I spent almost 6 months on the forum learning as much as i could before i actually got mine. I highly recommend you carve out a weekend, sit down at your computer, and binge-read back several years. You’ll learn a great deal more than just asking at this time because many who post here now are at the same point as you. Which is to say in the earlier part of their journeys.

Hi sparky123, more details on your age, medical, etc. would help.
But to answer as best I can, I see nothing in the future of any new cure for ED. If you look at a malleable implant it basically stays hard all the time, you fold it when not in use. They aren't guaranteed to last longer or be less trouble. Many have said using a VED prior helps. You do want to maintain as much length as possible.
Search and read the posts in the Implant section here. Lots of good info.

Agent heard anything about any new drugs or other treatments, not likely anything will be released for a long time as you would be hearing about any trials which usually go on for years. Yes using a VED will help stretch things out. My Dr suggested I use it for 90 days prior to implant twice a day for about 30 minutes ea time. Don’t get too carried away just get a good stretch and increase periodically as it gets less uncomfortable. Not trying to get it maxed out the first time you use one. I’ve been implanted about a year and a half and it was by far the best thing I’ve done in my battle w ED over the pAst 11-12 years! As far as which implant is better. A lot depends on your Dr, your length, girth, and any other complications you might have. Some Drs only use one brand others give the choice but might highly recommend one or the other. Either implant would be plenty rigid and they both get much softer as they break in. I have the coloplast Titan but if I were to get a revision I wouldn’t care which one they used. Research will show that the Titan will give more girth, but….. haveing a quality surgeon in my opinion is by far more important as they would know much better how to properly size you without overdoing it, yet getting the maximum size out of it.
59 years old ED started mid 40s pills failed after 10 years. Injections works but diminishing results with pain. Implanted 5-22 Baylor,Scott, and White Dallas.Dr Michael Wierschem, infrapubic Coloplast 20cm and 1cm RTE. Going strong and loving it!
