Grower not shower question

Hi All
To cut a long story short, almost 37 years old, had ED for around 8-9 years now which used to respond to oral medication but no longer, have tried caverject 20mcg with no luck and had doppler ultrasound which confirmed VL; have a follow up end of December.
I'm starting to think that an implant may be the only realistic way to go if I want to have a normal sex life at all and save my mental health! So been researching
My main concern is I'm a grower not a shower; so flaccid I'm around 4.5" length and 4" girth and 80% erect (about all I can get to forcing myself!) Is 6.25" length and 5" girth.
When measuring up for implant how do they go about it? Will they say inject me with carverject and let me get to around 80% erect and use that as measurement or go for a flaccid which would be small!
Thanks

The general procedure is that you're sedated. Prepped, then opened up. The sedation relaxes all your tissue. So that when you're measured by using a tool inserted into your corpra. That you're a grower does not matter.
I was generally unsure of the accuracy of the presurgery stretch test. But in at least in my case it was very close to my after surgery size. By my 3 month exam, I was .5cm longer. Now I'm 1.5cm longer than the test. Yes I was a considerable grower.
Forget about the Caverjet. Even with an induced erection they still need to measure the proximal part of your penis. This is the penis that is inside your body. If Caverjet gave you a 7" erection you would absolutely be disappointed in a 7" implant.
If the 6.25 is measured in a VED? Its not realistic. The vacuum is constantly pulling your penile tissue out. That isn't how your body produces an erection.
I suggest that you watch some implant surgery videos on YouTube.

Thanks for the indepth response. I measurement 6.25" length and 5" girth with masturbating up to about 80% erect which is the best I can get!
I'll have a watch of some videos, it's the main concern of mine really ending up with something much smaller erect after implant surgery!

When you watch the video, be prepared for a rather dramatic illustration of the procedure. The surgeon inserts a measuring stick through an incision made in the side of your penis' tunica albuginea (each one in turn) and shoves it down into your pelvic crus to find the bottom, up against your structures down there. The proximal measure. The surgeon notes the distance read. The tool is then withdrawn and reinserted, pointing up into the inside of your glans' end of the tunica. When this is done, it is done quite forcefully, alarmingly so. A timid surgeon, or one with little experience may not do this as much as a more experienced surgeon; this is why experience is so important. The measuring tool NEEDS to be forced with as much effort as your natural erection (in the past) did. The measurement is noted.
The two measurements are added together. That is the size implant you should get.
Steel yourself for the video. It can be alarming. And reassuring.
Edited to add: The AMS LGX is designed to lenthen when infkate from its deflatedxstate (or more accurately, to shorten on deflation). So, if you wantcto continuecto be a “grower”, thr LGX is the best candidate. Be aware that the “growing” will be a LOT less evident than your original equipment.

I was a grower before. Definitely a shower now.
If you can handle watching any videos of the surgery, you're a better man than I.
But as Lost Sheep said that's how it's done.

I think it'll be guaranteed that you will become a shower after getting an implant. I also think your current flaccid length isn't even relevant. At no point before or during the procedure would your flaccid size be evaluated or even mentioned.
Someone feel free to correct me if I'm wrong on either of those two things (possible).

4.5” flaccid and a grower? Bruh..
Prior to surgery I was flaccid at about 1.75”-2”, literally looked like a peanut in a turtle neck!
My measurements were very similar to yours, 6.25”x 6.5”.
Right now, 9 weeks later I am 4.5” flaccid and 5” erect. Much better than 8 weeks ago when I was 4”!
Im no longer huddling against the urinals at Loves and Bucees in embarrassment!
The suggestions to watch the surgery are very good, it helped me better understand what was going to happen and made me realize that a good surgeon was critical. Its my opinion that stretch tests are for the patients benefit not the surgeon. Once you witness it itll make sense. Also try to watch videos that show people with your issues and size, that will help allay fears. I know watching surgeries on guys that had PD was very helpful for me to mentally prepare for a tough journey.

Its common to fail to realize that implant surgery is to give you a functional erection. Flacid size is not their concern. Post operation flacid size is a function of the nature of the implant material. Simple, its something that we just have to adapt to.
Many surprises & changes await you after surgery.
I'll list a few that caught my attention. Probably the biggest change to me was that I could stop sex to go pee. Even when I was very young. Doing that meant that I would lose my erection. But it could be recovered but usually not as hard as before peeing. I'm sure that guys know the "piss hard on" phrase. My wife really liked the extra hardness of the piss hard on. She was a good sport about me losing it but it changed the experience for her.
Even my CX is just "different"at flacid. Yes, most will say its now a shower but its surprising to me. Sometimes I need to reposition it more than I ever did before. Kind of reminds me of a minor semi erection after having sex. Just its "there" feeling. Evenbafter 6+ months. Hard to describe.
Be prepared to gradually lose any "wow you're really hard" comments. I don't know about most women but my wife could gage my erections better than I could. Girth is important but the hardness of whatever girth you have is a very big factor to women. I think they read it as you're really turned on by them signal. Us men fail to consider the hardness of our girth. Ya, we're too focused on the visual size. Women can tell hardness really well. Your partner might stop noticing when you're extra hard because you're ALWAYS extra hard. But be careful, its easy to be "too" hard. You need to read the little hidden signals that she might give you on how hard to be. Pay attention guys.
As a side note to the hardness. My wife dates the start of my ED farther back by several years than I do. She could tell that the hardness of my erections was diminishing. I didn't notice.
It might take some time to get accustomed to that sex doesn't have to stop after you ejaculate. Occasionally I would trick my wife into thinking that I had cum. A few strategic thrusts & a few kegles was all it took. Of course sex continued. That never failed to really excite her. I think your partner will really like that sex doesn't stop at your cumming.
As they say, " hold on to your hats". Lots of stuff will change. Men are focused on what WE see as being changed. Women will focus on what they "feel" has changed. Reading those signals will really benefit you because women will seldom verbalize those feelings.
Sorry guys, another long rambling post.

Rambling or not (and I think not), your post, sir, is an excellent observation of how women relate to their partner vs how men relate to their partner, and to sex. Kudos to you on your sensitivity and ability to express.

Yup, there is four people having sex. Two are the humans, two are their feelings. Hopefully all four can successfully merge to have fun.
