....1) how long did you pump? (How many weeks prior to surgery; duration and frequency of session).
.....2) did your length/girth lessen, increase, stay the same with the implant?
.....3) what kind of implant/brand/ cylinder size did you get?

Thanks,
Fcs

I had my surgery over 4 years ago. Dr. Karpman in Bay Area. I'd been without erections for around a decade, so atrophy was a huge problem. Dr. Karpman told me to get both a VED and a traction device. The VED was a 2" by 9" tube, which I had to upgrade to the next size larger in diameter after a while. I pumped for a little over 3 months and wish I'd gone longer. I marked the tube and my stretched length under pressure increased by about an inch and a quarter over that time. Girth also increased, necessitating the wider tube. I'd make sure you get a pump with a gauge so you can tell how much pressure you're using. I got a LeLuv pump on Ebay with squeeze grip for pumping, gauge, changeable cylinders, and the ability to detach the pump and still have suction in the tube.

The doctor told me to do 4 sessions a day, of at least 20 minutes per session. After chatting with some others here, I got a regimen going that included pumping up slowly, leaving it 3 minutes, release, then pump up again but not quite to max and "milking" the tube for 5 minutes, release, pump up again to max and leave it until 20 to 22 minutes had gone by in total. Some guys said it was important to have it go up and down, not just stay static at stretched length. They said blood flow going in and out was also important. Not sure, but it worked for me.

I bought a Penimaster traction system, with both a mechanical stretcher (looked like some kind of medieval torture device) and a wrap-around strap that would allow me to leave it on under my cloths for hours at a time. I only had that for about 2 months and I'm not sure if it made a difference or not.

My guess is that using these items for longer than I did would have given a little more improvement, but I got most of what I would get by the time I had surgery. Diminishing returns after a while. My surgeon said that I'd done a great job with it and he was able to put in cylinders that were significantly longer than he'd anticipated before I'd done the stretching.

If you want more details, let me know here or by PM. I was happy with the result.

Best wishes for you.

Quincy.

After about 1 year of total ED I went for my consultation for an implant. The surgery was scheduled about 2 months in the future. I purchased an el cheapo ved on eBay. My stretched length was about 5.5 at that point compared to my high school length of about 7.5. I used the VED twice a day for about 30 minutes pumping up until it really hurt (exceeding the pressure recommended in many posts). I was able to VED to about 7.5. I over VEDed and caused some bruising on my dick, but I figured I had nothing to lose. When I received my implant, I was able to get a 22+1 titan and post implant I was 7+. After 18 months out I’m 7.5 and very happy.

There are different types of size loss to understand. Most of that is covered in the series of documents in the documents worth reading thread in the General discussion section. Generally, before during and after surgery. Before surgery as this thread is asking about depends on how much size loss has occurred from ED and how much is recoverable. There are several good articles in the documents worth reading thread on VED use prior to surgery. The best I think is the penis exercise article. But the other one shows that gains in the first several weeks are the greatest. And by 4 to 6 weeks they slow to being difficult to measure. I think as with cycling after implant the gains still happen they just need to be measured over longer period of time. One month instead of one week or even 2 months.

I used VED but it takes time to prep and do the penis exercise and then clean everything up and put away. When I did not have time for VED penis exercise I would do manual stretching. I would place my thumb on top of my penis at the base of the glans and my index and middle fingers on the underside opposite. I would gently pull out and back and then up, down, left and right and repeat for as long as I had time. I used this for 6 weeks prior to surgery. And the stretching seemed to be better than VED after 3-4 weeks. I was not able to have an erection with pills or injections for years prior to implant to compare. I am approx. 1 inch or a little less than my youthful healthy size. My device information is in my signature at the bottom of this post. I had a surgeon that sized aggressively and had just under 3 week wait to activate.

The penis exercise article explains the need for this exercise when erection stop or greatly reduce to slow size loss from ED. This will help the doctor to get a longer measurement when ne/she does the surgery. But this is only part of the final measurement after surgery that you are asking. And there is a lot more to this. Scar tissue that needs to be removed or broken up either during surgery or afterwards. aggressive sizing by the doctor. Activation wait times. And of course the amount of size loss for ED.

Men differ. Doctors differ. And the end result differs. All that being said VED use as outlined in the penis exercise article will help if there is not damage that prevents VED use. As the article states go slow and be careful as you can cause damage using a VED.

Item two was intended to be a straight observation from the day before you were implanted to 8 wks past, and after the surgical swelling had subsided.

I'm a little confused when I read how guys lose length with an implant, yet they go home with what they brought to the surgical theater.

If I'm measuring 5.5 on stretch, I should not decrease if the device is properly sized.

I'm not expecting my 18 year old penis, but this would be a nasty trick going in 5.5 and coming home 3.
