I have an ams 700 cx…. Implanted 05/22. The pump is bad and needs to be replaced:
Has anyone had this procedure and how does it compare to the initial implant surgery.
Meaning pain, recovery time, likely to fail a 2nd time…etc
Any information or comments are appreciated
Thanks

Yes I have had several revision surgeries , one where the pump failed after two years. The revision surgeries were easier than the original

I believe it's possible to just replace the pump instead of the entire unit. It would also be cheaper, and easier recovery.
Uncertain of pros and cons of doing this.

I had a revision to change placement of the pump (not replacement). The recovery was definitely a lot easier and smoother.
I imagine a full replacement of the pump would be similar in terms of recovery etc.
I wouldn't recommend it, unless it is absolutely necessary, risk of infection, scar tissue build up etc
