Update--problems with pump

Postby subhash » Sat Dec 16, 2023 7:21 am

A month or so after my revision I was having pumping problems as I had wriiten here. By way of update, I still am unable to pump at first shot . However after repeated attempts and after fiddling with the deflate button, deflation block, going berserk, pressing everything, trying everything, it always "pops" and finally Iam ready.

It always happens--but takes a lot of attempts. I really cant understand this.

I showed a local uro who said just keep pumping daily. (I jut pump it up once a month or so when i need it).
I figured out that the implant put inside me was in the AMS recall list.
I hope to get some insights into this. How long will this continue? It takes 20 minutes or so of continuous effirt to get it pumped.

I see this as pretty simple. If your pump is on the recall list? Its on the list for a reason. I think that you might of discovered the reason.

Why aren't you pumping more often? I thought most implant drs reccomended more frequent inflations than monthly?

How do you know your pump is on the list? I too am having pump issues and will have a revision with a new pump after only 1 1/2 years….damn it! But, I looked on the fda recall list and I too found my number on the list. However when I called the ams liaison she explained that many people have the same “item number”. But all have a different lot number…
You should check with Boston scientific and see if you really are on the recall list. If your surgery was in 2021 you should not be in the list from 2020…

Just an FYI. I was not happy thinking I had a recalled product.
Good luck!
