I am planning on going for a Penile implant in the coming year. An area of concern is the fact that I have a fairly large suprapubic fat mound, its enough that the head of my penis is all that is typically visible when flacid, when erect I def look shorter that I used to also.Wondering if anyone has had a procedure to remove the excess fat prior to implant surgery?
I have been doing well as far as weight loss which is part of my plan to get ready to have the implant procedure but from reading articles about it the fat in this area is not very responsive to weight loss.I am also hoping the implant will make me more of a shower when flacid and not having excess fat in this area seems like it would def help the appearence of it.

I am getting the fat pad removed on my revision surgery on January 23rd. My dr me he does a lot of these when installing the implant . I will let you know how the results are from it, because like you I have an extremely large fat pad that covers a lot of my length.

I looked into this when I had my first surgery. There was only one plastic surgeon locally that did this. He was concerned that the loose skin would still be a problem after the fat removal and wanted to do a long incision and remove the skin and pull the remaining skin up. I cannot remember the cost but I really did not want a long scar. The doctor wanted the scar to be at the bottom of my belt line. Over the years I have read about a number of men having fat pad removal. I had not read a post about it recently though. Seems the fat pad is very difficult or impossible to reduce with diet and exercise and weight loss. I had lost a lot of weight to help with my recovery for my first surgery. I still weigh much less than I did 15 years ago. Maybe my weight large loss had something to do with my doctors approach.
