I have a consultation with Dr Levine in a couple weeks, I have searched on FT looking to get patients opinions on him and everything I have read has been very positive which puts me pretty much at ease.I had been considering travelling out of state to one of the more frequently mentioned surgeons that are mentioned here but considering any possible future issues with infection, revision etc. I feel it's best to stay local.
That said I am wondering what to expect from the initial consultation would it typically involve an examination of my penis for sizing etc.?
Also will there be discussion about which implant would suit me best or does he use just one particular implant device/manufacturer?
Any and all real world info would be greatly appreciated!

You're right that Dr Levine is a great choice, id say he is one of the top 5 in the world. I would 100% go with him if he was local to me.

If you have a preference for which implant model you want (AMS vs Coloplast) this would be a good time to bring that up. He will probably want to know your history with ED to ensure you've tried all other treatments and are mentally aware of the commitment and permanency of a penile implant.

He's my doctor.

When I first visited him in 2020 he did a Doppler Ultrasound and a nerve test.

For me the Ultrasound showed a dramatic venous leak and I didn't respond great to the injections ( he had to inject me twice)

He prescribed a generous dose of daily Cialis, but also explained implants (throwing out the hint)

I visited him again in the summer of 2021 and we talked about getting an implant in the summer of 2022, but I got nervous and delayed.

I have another appt with him March 1 and I'm hoping to schedule the surgery at this appt

In terms of being a doctor he's great. Very knowledgeable and relaxed and has a sense of humor.

The last time I went he had both implants out for me to examine. At the time I liked the Coloplast, because of the smaller pump, but after reading a lot of posts on Franktalk I want to get the AMS CX. I'll talk to him about this in March

He did my implant two years ago. Could not be happier with my results. He is a nice guy and answered all my questions or at least his PA did. He did not do my activation appointment but had her do it. You deal with his assistants more than him but I would absolutely have him do any revisions in a heartbeat.
