My 3 pieces implant failed

Unfortunately, my 3-piece implant became infected and I had to undergo surgery to replace it with a 2-piece implant. My surgeon tells me that I'll have to wait at least a year before getting a 3-piece implant. I was implanted on the 23rd of November 2023, couldn’t cycle a lot.

Have other people experienced the same situation? How is the cycling going? Do I still have to activate my implant every day?

I have not had the two piece implant, but I have had many revisions and typically they try to wait 6 months between surgeries. It is a good sign that they put the two piece in place while there was an infection, I was left 6 months without anything in its place which caused a lot of scar tissue to form and to loose length once they reimplanted me. I would for sure cycle it the same as you would the three piece to help regain length.

The short answer is no, I haven’t had that happen.

To be honest, in four years + at this site you are the first guy I have heard of who got infected and had a 2-piece installed. There have been guys who got an infection and had malleables put in but you might be the first 2-piece.

I’m not going to try answering your question. Not out of a lack of sympathy. I hate hearing about anybody with complications/infections. There’s just too many variables we, as non-doctors, don’t know.

So go ask the doctor these questions you have. Make a list. You’re going to want to know what kind of infection, where was the colony, how are we going to ensure it doesn’t happen if we try three piece next time,

When it comes to health care, especially things that involve sexual health, knowledge is power. Those of us who post here have often done a lot of research, but we don’t know everything and we sure don’t know the details of your case. EVERYBODY’S IMPLANT EXPERIENCE IS DIFFERENT!!! Please, do yourself a huge favor and get these sorts of details from your doctor.

I have to agree with Txaqg8 to the letter. I seem to recall a member that got a 2 piece implant but it was his first implant. Not a place holder.

I think this is a great protocol for the dr to try. At least with the 2 piece its concealed better. Plus, if and only if your dr agrees. You can inflate it. That should help with any potential size lose.

By all means, be your own advocate. Ask questions, make sure you understand the answers. My opinion, overcoming an infection means that you should be in regular contact with your dr. Start now by clarifying any cycling questions you have.

Thank you for the answers, I will add some details. If I asked those questions, it’s because my doctor never mentionned cycling, even with the 3 pieces implant. He said that I probably wouldnt gain more size, and that he could add some (around 2 cm) at the next surgery.

The thing is that I lost quite some length, at least 3-4 cm, so im kinda worried about that.

not an answer, but a suggestion. If your worried about, or don't like the answer to your question, then schedule an appointment with another Dr. If the answers are the same, then you know. I different, then go with the better of the two.

1 year? That’s a long time to wait. Maybe time for a second opinion? Who did your surgery? Makes me really question his quality of work if he didn’t discuss a pumping routine…just saying.
