Starting to cycle only after one week sounds crazy..
I could not imagine trying to cycle that early.
My Dr had me wait 4 weeks to cycle and I was still a little swollen.
I know eveone heals differently but it was about 6 weeks til all swelling went away

Definitely ice them occasionally. Best ice pack is a bag of frozen peas which will conform to your shape pretty easy. I started cycling around a week and a half on my second surgery, basically waited till my swelling and pain was low enough to fully grasp the pump and feel the deflate button before using.

Gonna be a while yet before no pain. Maybe in a couple weeks it will feel OK, but you will still know it hurts.
Ice is the typical cure for swelling. I found heat felt better to ease pain but didn't do much for swelling. Cycling at one week is also going to cause some soreness. At 6 weeks poking around to find my pump still hurt.

I sat on a donut cushion for the first 6 weeks because the pressure of sitting was uncomfortable. 60% inflated the entire time. I had an easy recovery with minimal pain. The soreness and pain had fully subsided at 6 weeks, unless i was cycling. That kind of hurt. 1 year postop now. Totally pain free even at full mast.
I iced heavily those first 4 days. Read that after that time i should switch to heat, which i did. Sounds like you missed the icing window at 7 days. I’d ask the doctor about this.

Ice and heat. I couldn't begin cycling until 2 weeks in and sex at 7 weeks. Takes time.

There isn't a magical line where the pain goes away. Each day there will be less than the day before. I seem to always say to wait 6 months. But most of the discomfort is gone around the 2 - 4 month time. One day you'll start thinking & it'll hit you. You haven't felt any pain for a few weeks. That is the time.

About 2 months for me, if you include cycling maybe 4. Pain for me was very low, 2 out of 10 the first week, 1 week 2, less every week. Most of the time it was no pain week 2 on, but in pants, if i bumped it, had to sleep with a pillow between my legs for 6 weeks because the wrong position hurt. It was no big deal, way better than a sprained ankle, about like a jammed finger. Thank goodness.
