Over pumping AMS 700CX

I am 2 months post implant, and have been cycling twice a day. If in fact the AMS 700 CX does not have any type of safety valve to keep from over pumping, how is it possible to keep pumping after 40, 50, 60 pump ? At 40 I'm hard enough for penetration but can still continue to pump. Where is the excess fluid and pressure going ?

My first guess is that your pump is a bit sticky. In other words it might not be truly moving to the pump position. So it lets some saline bleed off from going into the cylinders. Are you getting a pop type sensation on your first squeeze?? Be sure to give it a good firm squeeze on the first pump. Don't be shy about it.

I'd suggest maybe trying to toggle your pump between pump & release a few times a day. If it doesn't get better in a few weeks then a call to your drs office is in order.

FWIW, my May 1 2023 installed CX 21cm implant & pump workd pretty good very early on. It has never failed to move between pump & release that I know of. I was unsure of finding the release button the first few times. My drs nurse nailed it everytime.

I definitely feel the pop when I go to inflate, and I can deflate after a few pumps. The pump was very hard in the beginning, but has gotten easier with usage. My concern is blowing out the hardware by over pumping. As I said at 40 pumps it's ok for penetration, but gets way better at 50 to 60. At 60 I can feel the tip extenders pushing on the glans, and a transition from the oval look to the more rounded normal look. Is 60 pumps too much for the cylinders to take. Am I going to break something ?

Post op I could pump 100x and never get the 'marble' I read about so often on FT. I was worried. I contacted Dr. Clavell and asked him if there was a bypass valve I was engaging, there is no bypass valve. His counsel was to just continue cycling and things would settle in.

Probably 2 mos. post op I was in the hot tub with my wife and started pumping. I got to 20 and it was like a marble. Something changed in that hot tub, something finally softened or seated. Since that day 10 mos ago I can only get in 20 pumps to rock hard. My wife prefers 16. ;)

I think you can't over pump, it seems to bypass the cylinders when you hit a certain point of resistance, at least that's what it feels like when I've tried to keep pumping my LGX.

I am rock hard at 10/12 pumps. Then I can’t get anymore in.

I talked implant pressure with my dr. He only uses AMS implants & is in several of Boston Scientific's YouTube videos. This was in reference to an oft quoted study comparing implant sizes at 20psi. He said very few men can get above 12/13psi. There is not a chance that a mortal man can get to 20psi in his opinion.

FWIW, if I'm cycling. I pump until the bulb is rock hard. Every 5-10 minutes I do my very best to get more saline into the cylinders. Normally I can get a half pump in 3-4 more times. I do reach a point where there is no way to get more in. Its highly unlikely that you can hurt yiur pump by using it. I'd be more concerned if you was grabbing it by the tubing at the top during your pumping.

This has come up here a couple of times. Some say there is a bypass, some say no. Both of my cx would occasionally let me pump as much as I wanted with out getting any harder. It would even do it once in while after I was fully inflated and stopped for a minute or two then start pumping again. What I found when it started to do that, was to change the position of the , pump, or my grip on the pump, or both. It seemed the angle of the pump and the tubes would allow me to squeeze the bulb but not move any fluid. As soon as I changed the grip or angle it would pump as normal. That could be why when you inflate, your holding one way, but when your wife did it , her grip and angle was different and allowed it to work. If your pumping with say your thumb on top and fore finger on the bottom, then reverse that. Just try moving it around to different angles and see. It works for me.

What are your overall thoughts about the CX. Any regrets? Can you hide it easily, so people don't think you have a semi-erect?

It's my first implants I have nothing compare it to. I had ED for about 7 years and in the last 3 years could not penetrate. So, from that standpoint, I'm very happy with my implant.I only lost about 3/4 of an inch in length, and confident that with proper cycling and usage that loss will be regained. I have some concerns but as long as my wife is happy, I'm good with the whole thing.
