HI guys,
I've been on the board for months reading and made the decision to go for it. I have a story similar to most on here. Been dealing with ED for 8 years and tried everything. In October I woke up with a 30 degree curve that turned to 45 degrees and all of a sudden I have Peyronies on top of ED. From October to February I read until my eyes bled. I visited several urologists and the only place I got real hope was here on FT. I consumed every piece of content Dr. Clavell produced and decided to go with him.
I was implanted with a 24cm Titan (high suggested by him because of the PD)
I flew to TX and Tuesday, had the surgery on Wed (20th) and then rented a car Thurs morning and drove 1200 miles back to NC. I know that sounds stupid and probably was, but I just couldn't stand the thought of dealing with the airport. I traveled alone.
Pre-surgery
Everything from the initial telemed appointment with Dr. Clavelll to my many emails with his office (Maddie) to get my questions answered and logistics in place was seamless.
Day of Surgery
I Ubered a mile to the hospital arriving at 7:15. Registration took about 30 minutes and then I was upstairs getting prepped. Lots of paperwork upstairs, repeating your name and birthdate a few dozen times, meeting with different team members and then Dr. Clavell came to see me. He looked at my PD scarring, gave my unit a good stretch and said everything will be fine. He sent me a text and told me to text him any questions after the surgery. Around 8:30 I guess the anesthesiologist arrived and said he was giving me some whiskey to make me relax. Lights out. I woke up a few hours later in recovery and having so much pressure on my abdomen that it felt like someone was standing on it. I slowly lifted the sheet to see what was there and sticking out of the mountain of bandages was the head of my penis which looked like it had been carved on. It looked so bad. Not anymore, but it looked terrible. They gave me some pain meds and that started working and I got up and tried to use the bathroom. Could not go at all. My bladder hurt it was so full so they called the Dr and ended up doing a straight cath, which I think is like a temporary one. Anyway it worked. A few hours later I left the hospital and was back at the hotel.
The last three days have been fine with pain. I've taken the pain meds as prescribed and haven't had any terrible pain. Totally manageable and better than expected. What's not been expected is the severe bruising and swelling. My dick looks black. The area above my pubic bone is black. I look like I've had the shit beat out of me. And my dick looks gnarly. It's still crooked a bit, swollen everywhere and my balls are the size of oranges. If I had severe pain I would be scared shitless. I don't have much pain so I'm just waiting my time out until things start to look normal again.
I did text Dr. Clavell and asked him if it was normal and he said it all looked good.
I'll keep you all updated. Happy to answer any questions.

Glad you took the step after suffering with ED. Driving from Texas to North Carolina the next day sounds a risky move. No pain is a blessing, swelling will go down in a few days. Ice helps.

Congrats man! Did the same thing at the end of feb with Clavell. Maddie and the team are awesome!
It gets better. The first week after surgery was the worst. Just uncomfortable and swollen. I babied my dick, wouldn’t move it or touch it. Just lived my life with no pants. At week 2 things got so much better and week 3 I barely notice.
Make sure you ice, ice, ice. I just started heating now too. Take your meds on time and hydrate.

Before you know it you'll be a year out and you'll wonder where the time went....
Congrats, it just gets better and better every day. I'm one of the lucky ones, I only took Tylenol and Advil for a couple of days, had no bruising and was released to use it as designed at 4 weeks. IMO you chose one of the best docs around!

My biggest problem right now is the pain of trying to hide it. I have to go to work on Monday but thinking about folding it up to put into pants is awful. I had to tuck it away on the drive home when I'd go into a gas station and earlier today when I had to go to the store for a minute. I'm hoping big time that it stops being so tender and I can pull it up to my abdomen or bend it down to hide in my pants for work without it killing me. Please tell me that is possible!

Purchase a fanny pack or a leg bag (motorcycle / military / whatever). Place it facing forward. This will hide everything.
Question: Did you get that Coloplast Card for flying?

Yes I got it. I just didnt want to deal with TSA the day after surgery. I had read how painful it was to tuck it. I think I can tuck it tight on my abdomen with a jock strap and tight band underwear. I’m just hoping that can be done without pain. It’s on fire touching the tip now!!!

Enoughisenough,
Your experience mirrored my own in many ways. Dr. Clavell did my implant Jan 17 and I can relate to everything you stated about him, staff and hospital. Unlike you, I have tremendous pain for nearly 6 weeks. Thoughts I'd lose my mind. I never anticipated that it would hurt that badly. Glad yours was not to the same degree. I, too, remember waking up and looking at the bulk of bandages with my dick peeking out and thought, wtf? I had to stand in the shower to piss. There was just no other way to do it.
One thing I was not completely happy with was information about insurance coverage. No one could seem to tell me how much I'd be paying out of pocket for the surgery which I thought was odd. In fact, it wasn't until the day of surgery when I was admitted that the registrar gave me a firm figure. And this was after I flew 500 miles to be there. I had told my wife that if I got there and it was going to be $20,000 out of pocket, I'd just fly home without the surgery. I did get a bill from the hospital a couple weeks ago for several thousand dollars and after a lot of investigating with my insurance company and the hospital, it was taken care of. I'm so glad I fought to get the coverage from insurance. But, I'd hope the Dr.'s office and the hospital would be more on top of that sort of thing (I have a prominent insurance carrier, they must deal with them a lot) and be able to communicate what the costs are prior to getting on the operating table.
Same as you, now my main problem is getting this thing in my pants. You are a similar size to me, so you can understand this. I've posted about suggestions for making it smaller, but not had much luck yet. It really is awkward (and somewhat painful) to stuff my dick into pants. We are currently getting ready for church and I looked at my wife and said, "Are you embarrassed to have me look like this?" (My crotch.) We tried a few positions, but no matter how you shift the thing, it just looks obscene.
The good news is, the depression about not being able to get an erection, the fear of losing an erection.... all gone. I could knock down drywall with my dick now. And, I can have sex for hours if I choose, which I love. Hope this thing lasts a few years.
Good luck on your recovery!

@midwestguy333 - You STILL have problems hiding it? I'm having a hard time because I'm inflated to 50-60%. Are you unable to hide it while deflated? I'm guessing you're deflating it now if you're two months post op. The doc said I'm 50-60%, but it feels like 80%. I could hit a homerun with it right now.
