What’s the most accurate way to measure your length and give you the penis size you really have?
1. Saline injection during operation
2. Metal ruler during operation
Also, is there any point to use a VED before and after ?
The studies that have been done on penis size have instructed men to self-measure bone pressed length. Usually done with a wood, plastic or metal ruler pressed to the pubic bone just above the penis. Erection size will very a bit in healthy men and is greatest just before orgasm. That is when Glans engorgement and erection is at maximum. Oral meds can cause that to increase though as can injections.
This is different from the size measured during surgery. Some doctors are more aggressive with inflatable measurement and will even add a bit or size up. With malleable as you will not be able to deflate to take pressure off the device the method for measurement is to subtract a bit to prevent erosion.
If you are no longer having nocturnal erections (morning wood) or greatly reduced erections and have started having size loss, then VED before surgery will help to restore loss that is still restorable. At least 8 weeks is recommended. There are 2 very good documents in the "documents worth reading thread" in the "general discussion" section of this forum. Look for the "how to use a penis pump for penis exercise" document down in the VED section. Several documents above the VED section is another document "maintaining size before implant".
These are mainly targeted at men who are getting inflatable devices, but some results should be seen with a malleable.
The only benefit for VED use or manual stretching after malleable implant would be to avoid erosion. As the malleable will not grow in length and girth like an inflatable will, there is no need for it to regain lost size. An inflatable will be cycled to expand, and others have had results like I did even a year after implant. A malleable does not inflate or expand in size and will always be the same size. So, doctors have to size down a bit because of the risk for erosion. If you are starting to have erosion, then manual stretching with VED or even just pulling the glans forward to reduce pressure on the distal tips would be the only reason for this. If done and not needed to avoid erosion I would think you would risk floppy glans.
