Swelling from malleable

Had a Tactra malleable put in 8/6, week ago today. Still have extremely swollen scrotum and penis. The bruising has faded a lot, but swelling still prevalent. Also still having significant urination issues. Have sudden extreme urge to go and often can only stand there and let it dribble out. Occasionally get a small stream which I really feel I have no control over.

Any others with similar experiences or opinions on this? Subject matter experts? Hopefully if I get past all this I’ll be glad I had the surgery. Right now, not so much.

All sounds very normal to me. If things start getting worse then I'd get concerned, but at 1 week in you can definitely expect plenty of swelling and non-normal urination

Thank you. My surgeon did not prepare me for this. Told me I’d have some swelling. Mentioned nothing about urination issues. I’m a gym rat. Even told me I’d back in gym at end of week two doing light upper body exercises. Right now I can hardly walk due to the scrotum swelling. And can’t go out in public due to the urinary issues. Told me malleable recovery is so much quicker than inflatable.

did they give you meds for that ? i was prescribed about a half dozen mes . 1 for antibiotics . One for inflammation . One for heartburn ? and others . that was in india [i now live in the philippines] . i was bruised for a couple of days , but other than that and the glans being very sensitive to pressure . There were no issues . Just waiting for the incision to heal and be able to swim and exercise again after a month .
if it persists, i would have it checked .
oh , i did have difficulty taking a leak . i would have to basically let it leave the bladder and then contract my abdomen to pholding push it out, holding my breath while doing that , then repeat more than once depending . that changed to only after i woke from sleeping , during the day its was normal . till now where after sleeping i sometimes need to do it but not often .
i had mine implanted in the second week of march . So 5 months now .

Is swelling increasing?
With swelling, do you also have redness spreading beyond the incision combined with pain?
With swelling, is your fever higher than 101°F?
With swelling, do you also have pus discharge?

If even one of your answer to the above is "Yes", please go and see your surgeon ASAP.

If not, that swelling is just part of your natural healing process and may take 3 weeks to 6 months to resolve.

Remember, everyone heals differently.

As for urination, it will gradually get better as your urethral inflammation goes down. Imperfections on urine stream at this time is normal, the red flag is only when you are not able to urinate or see blood in the urine.

What is your current medication regimen?

I'm 9-10 weeks out still have swelling on the shaft and pain ... never had trouble peeing just a little leakage for a day or so. I also have bph which makes me feel like I have to pee all the time and the meds they give for that makes it hard to ejaculate so it's a double edge sword ... I have had surgery 3 times with the mallabble so your pretty normal for the most part. As long as you have no fever or redness at the cut you should be fine ... and ice is your friend I used bags of frozen uncooked popcorn it folds around him and the boys good.
