First I would like to thank everyone here who has shared thier journey's for it has made this life changing surgery much easier to navigate.
Just a little bit about me. I started having ed symptoms in my mid 30's I was told it was in my head and was given scrips for viagra and Prozac. I took the viagra and ditched the Prozac. The symptoms were inconsistent so I eventually shrugged it off and used viagra as needed. In my early 40s symptoms were becoming more noticeable I found a well recommended urologist and was diagnosed with low testosterone. Started trt but no resolution to symptoms just made me really horny. This is where my journey to medications began trying just about all until eventually they stopped working. Began injections which just prior to surgery have been working but started to develop peyronies and at times it was hit or miss.
I live in NY so Luckily for me one of the top surgeons was just a 45 minute ride away. Had my first appointment with Dr Eid in February he confirmed what I already knew that getting the implant was inevitable. After several discussions on devices he steered me towards the 22cm titan coloplast with the classic pump. In his experience he has seen more failures with the one touch so I followed his advice.
Day of the surgery I was in the hospital at 530am and surgery was scheduled for 830am. All went well and was home by 6pm would have been sooner if it weren't for NY traffic. Over these 4 days the pain has fluctuated with today being the worst as I was hoping it would start to diminish but that's what the meds are for.
Patients of Dr Eid know day 3 is a big one. You get to remove that damn catheter and cycling begins. The pain of cycling is real lol even with taking meds.
So I'll end it here. Thanks to all who take time to read my journey and I look forward to being apart of this great group.
