Need fast advice! Regarding Dr. Wilson

Postby Stampede » Mon Sep 02, 2024 8:59 am

Hello there, I try to keep it short. Also: I am from Germany and English is not my first language, please excuse grammar and spelling.

I have my implant-surgery sheduled for 18th Sept. My surgeon is Prof. Osmonov from Germany. Inside Germany and central europe he is the highest volume doc there is, I have no doubt and trust him a lot. Talked to him in person, read a lot, seen his presentations and his resumee. He ist also member of those urologist, that write the world-wide implant specifications and blah blah blah, in short: in my opinion and after a lot of research he is the best that I can get. Ofc, there is Kramer, Eid, Clavell and so on, but I have to add: I am broke as fuck, so out of pocket is not an option for me. If I perform this surgery in germany, insurance will pay 100%.

Backstory: I am 30 years old, never had any problems with ED. Had priaprism in January this year, since then, no reliable errections. Sometimes its fine, then I move in a certain way and errection is gone. Cialis helped, but only a little, injections help, but also not very reliable and also I hate those plus I hate the fact, that you are much less spontaneous. Osmonov recommended a Titan, he also does the CX and also des rigicon, but I agreed to his recommendation.

So now main part: I just got a call from Osmonov. He told me, that Dr. Stephen Wilsion will come to his clinik (university-clinic Lübeck) on sunday and they hold some kind of congress and top urologists from 7 different countries will come to learn and congress will start on tuesday but wilson is allready there on moday. If I like, the can move my surgery a week eralier and he will operate my together with wilson. He said its an oppertunity, wilson is one of the popes of penile implantation and also, he wont charge anything, it is still done via insurance. He is happy if he can operate with wilson on a more special case. I asked what he meant with special and he said he was talking about priaprism and the fact, that there could be some internal tissue-bonding insinde my corpora. He also said he would 1000% operate me alone as planned, but he wanted to give me that offer and also maybe contribute to the fact that other people can learn something, so in short what he meant was something like "for science!"
Also he said that I will be staying 3 or 4 nights in the hospital instead of the normal 2 nights/3days, which is also a plus for me, since i have to travel 10 hours via train to get there/to get home.

He will call me back soon, I said I am fine with him and wilson together, but I just wanted to get some input here, since I am not very aware of Wilson, because he was never on my radar, since I knew I was bound to a german surgeon.
Would you do it? Is there anything, that speaks against it? There is one 10 year old thread in this forum talking about wilson butchering patients and beeing a clown..?

Dr. Osmonov’s name comes quite often on Franktalk. I would assume that if he is recommending and is excited to work with Dr. Wilson it would be a good idea.

thanks for your input! This is exactly what I thought about that situation. Only thing that threw me off was the fact, that I did in depth research about Osmonov and now there is another name in play.

From what I have heard Dr. Steve Wilson is one of the pioneers of penile implanters and a mentor to some of the leading surgeons like Dr. Park and Dr. Osmanov
Originally implanted with a Rigicon Infla 10ax in Turkey by Dr. Karaman in August 2023
Implant temporarily failed August 2024, until it resurrected again by itself.

Please use the search function on "Wilson". It finds 91 references to the word. It seems that Wilson has written some reseach studies that are quoted here often.

Only my guess. He seems to be very involved in implants. If your dr does the surgery with Wilson there to give advice. I don't see any big problems. You likely have what we call fibrosis from your priapism. Basically scar tissue in your penis. It can be cut through. So I'm guessing that you'd be a very good patient for the group.

Good luck.

Yes i have seen those references but i was not interested in studies. Ofc did i read those 255 publications he made in the last decades, as I hope everyone does who is getting an implant. He is referred to as "the godfather of IPP surgery" and can for sure contribute a lot. I was just wondering if anyone has his implant done by wilson.

Who is "we"?
I dont have any fibrosis, or scar tissue, my errections are firm and straight and the ultrasound revealed no scar tissue, luckily. I think i will just go with the wilson osmonov duo. When Wilson operated with Dr. Leiber, he did the surgery and Leiber watched, I dont know if its the same with osmonov, or if in this case wilson is the one watching and assisting, but I trust osmonov 100% so lets just see what will happen.

American English is a bit different than what you was likely taught. Our English has a lot of non British influence in it. For context of "we". We means us. Us as in the members of Frank Talk.

I first read about my implant dr because he was listed on Frank Talk as having published several studies. Usually drs involved in a study are funded by someone. Usually a universty or a medical company. Organizations that are paying quite a bit of money usually will only pick medical people that are very familiar with the subject. If Wilson is traveling to Europe? It would be my guess that he is very competent. If your dr is comfortable with him then even better.
