Had dissolvable sutures put in on August 28th and the doc isn’t being very helpful. Anyone know when and where these sutures will dissolve or I should take them out?

Usually, they start to dissolve at day 9.
What is written in your Operative report, what kind of suture did your doc use?

Cheers

For my Tactra implant (sub-coronal approach), PDS suture was used to close the corpectomy incisions and they absorb in 90-120 days. I hear you though, mine are also a nuisance and constantly poke me.

Mine took about 3 weeks to fully dissolved. DO NOT RUSH THINGS.

Typical Absorption Timeline
The general absorption time for PDS sutures is typically categorized into specific phases:

Initial Absorption: PDS sutures start losing their tensile strength within about 7 to 10 days after implantation.
Complete Absorption: Most PDS sutures are completely absorbed by the body within 90 to 180 days, depending on the factors mentioned earlier.

Can we have sex or we should fully remove the suture before we’re cleared for sex?

I’m not giving medical adviceafter several weeks post-op, I took it upon myself to trim the suture ends that were protruding through the sides of my glans. Using a pair of fingernail clippers (after wiping with alcohol), I very carefully cut the ends (not the knots) close to the skin surface. These would have been very uncomfortable during intercourse as they were coarse and somewhat sharp at the ends. Also, at my 4 week post-op check, my surgeon told me that depending on my level of comfort, I could resume my sexual relations. Hope that helps!
