implant in small penises
implant in small penises
Hello, good afternoon, I have some questions about the post-operative period. I have had an AMS 700 cx implant for a little over 3 weeks. My question is whether people with small penises also experience loss of length. Before the surgery I had an erect penis measuring 14 cm 5.5 inches. I would like to know the experience of someone with approximately the same measurements and to know how much of a loss they made. I would like to know how long after the surgery you started pumping and riding a bicycle.

Howdy Luis:
First of all at 5 1/2 inches I don’t think anyone would classify what you are packing as small. According to my urologist that is exactly normal or average.
I’m not sure why we don’t see more guys in your range posting on here after their implants. Perhaps they’re all too busy having sex to type.
I’m sorry I can’t give you feedback from the perspective of the average guy. Call me in the high side of average at 6 3/4” erect. But I’ll tell you what I think.
Regardless of size we all seem to go thru the same process. I’ve talked to guys on here who started out at 8 1/2…..8……..7……….6 1/2………6. We all saw the same routine after surgery. It would only make sense that the same thing will be true for a guy starting at 5 1/2.
After surgery, you’re going to have swelling. That swelling is going to conceal some of your penis. You haven’t really “lost” any size to speak of, it’s just masked by swelling. You’ll notice a pretty significant gain closer to your starting size once you’ve healed and swelling goes away.
When surgery is performed on any part of your body it is an assault. The body retaliates by creating scar tissue. Tissues tend to retract. That’s the purpose of regular cycling of the device. To stretch out that scar tissue and allow your body to return everything to its original size and shape.
I’m guessing your big concern is permanent loss. That’s going to depend on the skills of your surgeon. If he or she did their job right, once healed you ought to be at or very close to your original size.
It helps in visualizing this if you’ll think about what they’re doing. They’ve opened up your corpora cavernosa chambers and are putting two inflatable cylinders, one on either side. To get the right size, they’re going to have to measure. Complicating matters is this corporal chamber isn’t a straight line….it makes a sharp bend adjacent to the pubic bone. Therefore the surgeon ties a suture at some point at or near where this bend will occur. They dilate then measure distance from this reference point to the end of the chamber in the head of your dick (distal measurement) and from the reference point back to the chamber’s end towards the body (proximal measurement).
The sum of distal + proximal = length of implant.
Most guys have measurements not exactly the same as an available implant. That’s why surgeons use RTEs - think of them as filler or spacers to ensure proper sizing. An implant plus RTEs can get you sized within 0.5 cm. But that tends to explain why two surgeries can be done exactly the same and the men were sized properly but one guy ended up exactly what he had before and one guy lost 1/4”.
I’ve rambled way too much, but that’s nothing new. Sizing isn’t that complicated and if you were done properly you should expect a loss between no loss at all to maybe 1/4 of an inch.
You’ve got a CX. Do you know the size & RTEs? They should have given you that on a card when you left hospital.
As far as me personally, after nearly 5 years I lost .06 inches. Too small to measure, really. And my experience is pretty typical. Yes, there are a few outliers/horror stories but after 6 months or a year, most everyone I’ve chatted with on here reports “back to original size or close enough to it where it doesn’t matter.”

Age 68. Physically fit educated red neck in Texas. Very married. 23 cm (18+5) of LGX installed by Dr. Bryan Kansas 12/31/2019. I fought the ED and my wife & I won. I’m either full of shit or sound advice. You decide which.

You definitely did not ramble too much! You gave a thoughtful and informative response; in fact, it was the clearest description I’ve read of sizing anywhere. I am scheduled for my implant on November 1st, keeping my fingers crossed…
You are a big help to men on this forum and were one of the first people I reached out to two years ago, thank you!

63 years old, pills stopped working; Struggled with injections and restriction bands for past 2 years, minimal success. I’ve finally come to terms with needing an implant was scheduled for November 1, 2024, but my surgeon is on sick leave.

Re: implant in small penises
I just need to say a 5.5 inch penis is by definition not even small. Go to calcSD for while for the not perfect but still the best data on dick size stats that exists and it puts you at exactly 50% of men who will have that size.
You're average.
So the main experiences most men had with lost size at first is relevant but I don't know. I only hope you do know you're very likely to get it all back, if not more. Keep using a VED and cycling when the doctor tells you to start and expect it to take several months or possibly a year, but stay consistent and it'll happen.

40. AMS 700 LGX, 21+3. Nov. 2, 2021. Idiot who abused alcohol for brain injury, abused viagra for implant.
Goal to prove implants increase dick size
Pre-op dick size: 8.75" x 5.7"
Current: 9-9.5" x 5.5"
Goal: 10+" x 6+"

Yeah, Txagq8 should write a book on this shit.
40. Implanted July 5, 2024, by Dr. Andrew Kramer, Urology Associates of Cape Cod. AMS LGX, 21cm cylinders + 2cm RTEs. Idiopathic erectile dysfunction following bacterial infection. Tried pulse waves, Cialis, even spinal injections. Nada.
Re: implant in small penises
A funny paradox about "average dicks" is that practically no one seems to have them...
Most everyone on this forum seems to be 16+ cm, some pushing 18+ too. Obviously, people could be lying and i supposed often this IS the case, we all "round up" at least ... but on this site many people post actual pictures of their erect penises in full frontal. Even tho pictures are often misleading (people have actually commented on my pics saying i have a huge dick while it's actually quite tiny), it's still more or less easy to see the big ones. And i've seen my two best mates naked, not erect ofc but butt naked, and they do sport bigger members than i do and both claim to have ~17cm. We are from Eastern Europe, not Afrika too, so can't "blame" the genes either
Whatever the case, it's my observation that the "real" average (Caucasian?) dick is 16-17cm, not the 14-15 that doctors and educational sites give us. It seems to be the same with width, since it's mostly proportional.
Sooo... my theory is that the "average" doctors give you is a very rounded-down version of things, or maybe taking into consideration a specific group of people dragging the measurements down, made to make smaller guys feel ok and actual average guys feel big and powerful.
Probably a bit tinfoil-hat type of rant, as organising such a thing on a global scale would be too complicated and pointless... but then again, medicine and health-care seems to follow large trends that somehow propagate around the world and are applied by most doctors "automatically", so maybe i am not too far off the point.
P.S. Ah yes, forgot to mention - i have a 14-15(max) cm length and ~13cm circumference. You can see pics of it in "dick of the day" and see if they "match" the actual measurement

40 years old, married. ED all my life because of spinal cord injury caused by a tumor in early infant age. Using standard EDEX20 since 2007. Increasingly bad results with EDEX in the last few years, but had very good results for at least 10 years.

Nice pseudo racial conspiracy theory - reminder that men of all races, countries and walks of life have erectile dysfunction regardless of penis size

I went & looked at your pic, hunchback.
If I know nothing else and wiped out any bias from having heard you describe the measurement, I think I would have guessed 14.5 cm x (maybe) 13 cm.
I think the foreskin might make you look a bit thicker in the photo. The PA is definitely a clue.
I’ve looked at a lot of the studies. I know it sounds stupid but I used to think I was pretty badly underendowed. I’ve also done quite a few classes both as an undergrad and in grad school on statistical methods.
A survey with a sample size n=15000+ where every swinging dick got measured by a medical professional and the mean ends up being 5.17 inches (13.15 cm) is probably pretty close to the truth.
I’d suggest that (1) guys with cocks between 5 and 6 inches are less likely to call attention to themselves and their cock size in a public forum and (2) there is a possibility that gues with cocks in that size range suffer less from ED.
Smaller corporal chambers fill with a lesser volume of blood and are more apt to squeeze off the veins quickly while requiring less effort from the circulatory system.
I’ve got a dotd pic (pg 99) as well as a post of before, post surgery, and 5 yrs later.

It would be educational if we knew how many and what size implants were used. Then you could really look at projected sizes and see if the mean is actually >5.something. Frankly, I don’t think that many doctors could lie that consistently and uniformly and get away with it.

Would I be considered as having a small corpora due to my thin girth?
