Implant stopped working today...

Hey all, I've got some bad news to share...today I tried to pump up my implant but the pump kept going flat and nothing was happening...seems like a failure. I have no idea why would this happen so early, it's only been 6 months since my operation. I've read similar stuff from the other guys with Rigicons here about heir pumps stopping working after less than a year, but I think they mentioned that it randomly started working after some weeks again. So I'll give it a bit of time, one month max, before I start thinking about a revision.

Otherwise I'm quite upset by this, I hadn't even got the chance to use it properly with a girl...only tried it 2 times with a hooker to ease my anxiety about sex. Can't shake off the feeling that life is playing a cruel joke on me with all this bullshit.

Tony, check Entourage's most recent posts. He was in the same situation some weeks ago (pump went flat, supposed leak) and travelled to see his implant surgeon (dr Clavell). Dr C told him about some glitch with these pumps and to just observe the situation for a little while. You might want to PM Ento since we haven't received any new updates on his case.

i don't know about rigicon implant, but I know there are certain issues with pump and the valves with coloplast. there are a few tips that the surgeon may recommend. 1) pushing the tubing up so more parallel or in line with cylinders during pumping (can cause kink) 2) pull on the pump to ensure no kinks from tubing coming from reservoir. etc

but if you have a leak - that needs a revision.

Sorry to hear that brother. My first implant needed a revision after just 6 months. It wasn't due to the actual implant but the surgeon did not account for a specific anatomy situation I had so I went to a new doctor and had a better result. Its been over 2 years now and all is good. I remember thinking it was a cruel joke the world was playing on me at the time just like you.

My first implant (AMS700) failed at about 7 weeks. At 9 weeks I had a revision and that became infected at 8 days out. I had to have it removed. I went 11 months healing
I then went to Dr. Clavell this past June. Things so far have been great
Healing has been 10 times faster and less painful.
I'm really hoping for no issues for at least 5 or 6 years.

I went to get a UROFILL treatment from a Perito trained provider and colleague and either poked a hole in a cylinder or the pump stopped after 14,10,6 and finally 4 pumps. He’s going to do an infrapubic like Perito and said he hasn’t had an infection in 12 years. I’m still nervous about infection. I did want a revision eventually because of my kinked and very palatable and too highly placed tubing from my VA surgeon.

So after reading your post I’m hoping it’s just the glitch in the pump and/or tubing and will resolve itself.

Good luck.

Was urofill worth it? I'll have Perito do it.
