Early recovery AMS 700 & Scrotum

I apologize for asking about this because I recall reading this on here but for the life of me cant find the various posts. I am pretty uncomfortable in my Scrotum when I move around.
About 4 days ago had the AMS 700 implanted and fully expected my scrotum to swell which it has. However the valve and bulb feel like its pinching my scrotum. Especially when I walk.
I recall reading about some kind of underwear you can wear that I guess helps with this especially in public. Looking for other guys experience on this and how to deal with it.
Otherwise honestly this has been not too bad. I am a runner and fell the day before surgery and bruised my ribs. I think my ribs hurt more than the surgery....LOL
This message board is awesome!!!!!

My implant was on 9/12/2024 so I am a few days ahead of you.
Day 1 after surgery is when I unwrapped the bandages and removed the catheter.
I could easily touch the left nut, pump in the center, and the right nut.
A few days afterwards it felt like the original nuts were fighting for space with the new, third nut.
One day it felt like a lead weight was resting at bottom of my scrotum, it was uncomfortable but not a big problem. I could easily touch a corner or something of the pump.
Swelling and coloration of the scrotum right after surgery was on the rise.
Several days later swelling maxed out and started to reduce.
Coloration took its own path. Shades of purple, blue, black. Black became the predominant color for me. It is SLOWLY fading but I still have some black on day 12 (today).
Some of your discomfort may be from your taint area. Swelling continues from your scrotum onwards to your asshole. When sitting down I could feel pressure from my taint area pushing my balls forward. This too will subside. Taint and asshole area are the low points where blood can pool.
I have not done my journal yet, but my wife has helped me by taking a series of pictures every day.
The changes from day to day are interesting.
Try to see your taint area via phone pic or mirror. You may be amazed.
I have been wearing a jock strap, or sports compression shorts (Under Armour, Adidas). My doctor instructed me to wear compression for the first 6 weeks with my Buddy pointing at my belly button.
The shorts you are probably thinking about is Separatec.
I don’t have those and not sure that’s going to help your current discomfort.

Hey @ kbb1957 thanks for responding and lets stay in touch since we seem to be trudging the same path. Couple of things:
: My surgeon did not use a catheter which was a relief.
: What do you mean by "taint"
: My incision is above the penis not in the scrotum. Yours?
: My surgeon told me to pull the valve down once per day and I see him next 3 weeks after surgery where I assume he will show me how to pump and deflate.
: Tried wearing tightly whities and pulling them up but that made my scrotum feel worse. It feels better to just let them hang.
Lastly, my surgeon gave me very little instructions other than to pull down the valve daily. I walk a decent amount and I think that helps but not sure about what impact walking has.
Thanks

Taint: The area between scrotum and the anus.
Incision: Mine is “Vertical Penoscrotal approach with separate reservoir incision”. See my signature.
Instructions are different from surgeon to surgeon.
I used ice only the first 48 hours after surgery. Continuous compression with my Buddy pointed at my belly button until the 6 week exam. After that I don’t know yet.
I have referred to the compression shorts as torture pants. I have gotten used to them.
Please update your signature. It helps everyone understand what you have and the type of approach your surgeon performed.

Use the search function at board index level.
“Separatec” is probably what you are searching for. The search results will have other underwear mentions also.
My search results have 122 entries.
Good luck finding what you’re looking for.
Agreed this forum is very helpful.

When your surgeon says it’s ok, hot baths can help. It really relaxes the scrotum and you can gently pull down on the pump. It helps alot to loosen everything up.

I don't see the once common suggestion to keep your penis as vertical as possible. It was said it helped the body encapsulate the rear of the cylinders in a position that provided the most upright erection.
I bought an athletic supporter, commonly called a jock strap at a local sporting goods store. I then rolled up two wash cloths to lay across my penis. I found that this was the most comfortable for me. I wore that for most of my six weeks until my follow up appointment. This was while I wore my normal denim blue jeans. It wasn't noticable at all.
I know that you might not like hearing it but recovery won't be pain free. After my weeks worth of pain meds ran out I used quite a bit of ibuprofen & tylenol on a rotation basis. I normally suggest buying a big bottle of each. They're cheap. I also bought the cheapest heating pad I could find. I slept with it between my legs. After the first few days heat works better than ice.
I'd like to point out to those still considering an implant but they fear the pain. It is bearable with the right over the counter pain relievers, clothing adjustments & time. Each day gets better. Also, its my sincere belief that selecting a dr that has preformed a decent amount of implants is important. An experienced dr won't unnecessarily move your penis around deciding what to do. He'll get in there & get it done without unduly disturbing tissue. I think that is important.

I love dry sarcasm. I bet you could NOT tell anything was different in your pants. LOL
Dr Morey instructs his patients to keep their penis as straight as possible laying on the abdomen pointing to the belly button. I am following the instructions diligently!

The wash cloths helped hold my dick about as close to 12:00 as I could get. I even experimented with a large elastic Ace type bandage worn like a low belt. That worked good but would slowly slip off. I did have several nurses visit during my 6 week recovery time. I showed her each method. She seemed ok with it all. For what little it means to the group. I even did my best to sleep on my belly as much as I could. If I was to get my ED fixed I wanted a high angle erection. At my 6 week check up with the dr. He did say I had about as high of an erection as most men get. Just a little above 3:00.
Just one mans opinion. Getting a high angle is hard to do. The cylinders are straight so when pumped they want to follow the angle of the proximal cavity. Since I have a very deep proximal I suspect 3:00 is as good as can be expected.
My dr works with Boston Scientific. He said they talked about getting an implant with some curve up to it a few years ago but nothing every came of it. He said it was actually fairly easy to do. I think that would be a good selling point for the CX but those in charge don't share my view.

For pointing towards the belly button...
For comfort, I like to forget the idea of an underwear, cut the elastic waistband from two pairs of underwear and using them as bands around the waist + shaft and placed below the glans.
