I'm an avid cyclist and I was cleared to ride my road bike after 4 weeks. It felt awkward and tight the first month after I was cleared but month 3 everything felt normal. I cycle between 3,000 and 6,000 miles a year and I haven't had any problems.

But as the other bionic brother said, check with your doc to make sure and get the green light.

Safe running out there :!:

1 year? that sounds like a lot. I am just over 2 weeks post op and if someone would tell me i am not allowed to run for a year, i would definetely not get the implant :D

I cant wait to get back to it ASAP.

I wonder if other members of the forum like running and how long it took you to go out with your usual running routines after the implant?

i am barely over 2 weeks and already feel i am getting fat from not doing anything except eating all day.

I started running three weeks after my surgery. My surgeon told me that there is nothing I can do to hurt what he did after the first week. He did say he would be surprised if I was able to run due to swelling of scrotum.

I truly believe you can start running once your Doctor clears you to start cycling.
(roughly 6 weeks for most)
Thats probably the point where all "sealing and Healing" has occurred in your body.
Obviously, exercising with any open wound is very dangerous because of infection.

I have ran 9 marathons PRE-Implant and I have ran POST implant
My running now is abbreviated because I also had a left hip replacement 5 years ago.

BUT, when I go for a quick 2 miler, I feel nothing jangly or moving around down there regarding the Implant
Its well supported and for running I don't see any problem whatsoever.

(Please don't tell my hip surgeon-he will kill me... )

I go fairly hard in life.
Swim
Bike
Run(lightly)
Jump rope
Heavy bag

I'm almost two years in with this implant and I've never had a problem with any sporting ability.
I've bounced up and down 10 mil. times.

No issues.
BUT, Run that past your Doctor.

Best wishes

Great info! Do you need to wear any special underwear to support your scrotum at this point or just regular underwear is enough?

Nope, just regular briefs.

No problems whatsoever!

Running will have no impact on the duration of the implant.

Run to your hearts content.

It's part of you now.
