Active reader but first-time poster here.

Looking forward to joining the Bionic Brotherhood soon. Implant surgery by Dr Bryan Kansas is scheduled on Dec 10, 2024.

In a few hours from now, my wife and I will be taking a 3.5 hours drive to Austin, Texas. Spending a night at a nearby hotel, before heading to the medical center the next morning.

Dr Kansas in my insurance network and from what others in FT has suggested, I should be in good hands. I will provide more information regarding (Marketplace) insurance later.

Frozen peas in the freezer, prescriptions picked up. I even invested in a new powered recliner sofa.
Thanks to all of you, I believe I am quite mentally prepared for the challenges ahead, after reading all the info I can read from FT.

Dr Kansas was my guy three weeks ago . I think you’re in good hands and hope everything goes smoothly. I did consider sneaking out of bed as I lay there waiting in the hospital gown but I decided I’d come through enough with the ED journey and wanted to see it through.

The staff at the surgery center were great also. Good luck.

Good Luck Bluepenquin, you’ve done a lot of research here on FrankTalk, which has prepared you for this journey.
Hey, another Texan is joining the brotherhood.
Blue, I’m not from Texas but I got here as soon as I could. :)
I have the same implant as you will have.

We’ll be standing by to help answer any questions.

I used frozen popcorn when i had my surgeries .. it holds the cold good ..molds around everything well ... and has a nice weight to it so it stays in place without putting too much pressure on things

good luck brother

the frozen pop corn kernels seems like an excellent idea. I just used frozen corn (still sealed from the grocery). Only prob is that if you try to re-freeze you get larger chunks which defeats the purpose - hence the kernels.
