Prostate Cancer, hormone therapy and Implant

I had radical prostate surgery for PC about 2 years ago, I had to have salvage radiation to clean things up. Also have eligard Hormone therapy. After my surgery tried bimix trimix neither worked successfully. Also had Peyronies . AS a result used correction device and injections to deal the Peonies...in short it's been a tough couple years.
So after 2 years doc has suggested an implant. A few questions
1) I have no desire right now at all due to the Hormone therapy...thta ends in about 3 months and they expect a return. During this time however of not using my penis at all..it seems to be like a turtle in shell...getting smaller...can this be true? Should I use my device once again to stretch it out?
2) Anyone have any advice to improve desire on HT?
3) I am concerned that the doctor determines size of implant during surgery. I used to eb fairly large, lost a lot after surgery and peyronies...any way to recover the size before the doc decides...
I am 60, wife is 47...been a tough couple years and just want some hope again or advice...in the end worth it?

If you have one, use a VED every day to preserve or regain size.

I am sorry to hear you have been having a tough time. Yes it is true that your penis will shrink if not stretched out regularly. In normal circumstances this is done by the body automatically with night time erections. You should talk to a urologist about the best way forward if you are planning to go ahead with the implant, preferably the surgeon who is going to do it. After my prostatectomy I had three miserable years of trying injections, and dealing with the resulting peyrones. My implant was the best decision and I wish I had had it sooner. As already suggested you should use a vacuum erection device (VED) daily and why not try your traction device. Both of these helped me preserve my length and girth.

You're battling length loss from two directions. When they removed your prostate. You lost the urethra that was in it also. The urethra is kind of elastic like. So your urethra is constantly pulling your penis shorter. I don't know for sure but a VED might overcome this. Maybe permanently. Second is without night time erections you'll lose length. The solution to that is a VED. So my non medical suggestion is you need to use a VED until you get an implant.
Just my advice on what I've read. I've never had cancer but this follows what I've read here on FT over many years. Good luck.

I'm sorry to hear your struggles. Like many here, we are in the same boat. I had my pros cancer in 2020, then tried and failed everything. I just got implanted 31 days ago.
1) I'm not familiar with your hormone, but I'm on topical testosterone. It took awhile after the Dr was convinced with my PSAs that it was safe. I had a negative libido, felt worthless, and like a defeated man. Things will get better with patience and the right treatment.
2) see 1...
3) there are a shitload of YT vids and posts on stretching prior to surgery. Look for the Clavell uro vids- I found them very helpful. I pumped 2x/day for 2 mo; but be prepared to be short after the implant for the first 6 mo. Once again, lots of info on here...
Also peruse some of my posts for honest evaluations. I also had a severe turtleneck, but no more.
Good luck and we are here for you.

I finished salvage radiation over the summer and will be on ADT for another 12 months. Dr. Patel put me on a medicine called cabergoline to help with my desire and its worked to some degree - or the best possible with my testosterone being 0.
i would recommend getting implanted asap. talking to others it sounds like over time once the radiation sets in, things do get smaller. Doesn't help with the poor desire due to the ADT. Just find yourself a good surgeon that does a lot of these surgeries.

VED twice daily for about 30 minutes ea time is most commonly prescribed. Pump til you feel a little discomfort and wait a few minutes and add a little. After 6-8-10 min deflate, let some blood circulate and then repeat for around 30 min. Do this twice a day and watch it grow hopefully to where you were before PC..gradually over the next few months. Hang in there. I have a very. Lose friend that’s been battling PC for 3 years and it keeps returning. Recently On another round of chemotherapy…. He was losing a lot of size but started using VED and its coming back gradually. He’s anxious waiting for the all clear so he can get implant.

I have an implant and prostate cancer as well and also had androgen deprivation. (for me, implant first, then prostate cancer a few yearrs later)
here are my answers to your questions:
QUESTION 1: " I have no desire right now at all due to the Hormone therapy...thta ends in about 3 months and they expect a return. During this time however of not using my penis at all..it seems to be like a turtle in shell...getting smaller...can this be true? Should I use my device once again to stretch it out?"
Answer--yes shrinkage happens, use device to suction, get implant as soon as possible
2) Anyone have any advice to improve desire on HT?
Answer: no advice, no testosterone=no desire, when testosterone comes back, desire comes back. without testosterone, your desire is zero
3) I am concerned that the doctor determines size of implant during surgery. I used to eb fairly large, lost a lot after surgery and peyronies...any way to recover the size before the doc decides...
answer--maybe, but you need implant as soon as possible
I am 60, wife is 47...been a tough couple years and just want some hope again or advice...in the end worth it?
answer: yes, implant after prostate cancer is worth it...do the implant

Been in your position. RPP in 2017 followed by a few rough years. Hardest was testosterone recovery after ADT. Do what others have suggested. I use a VED with cycling. Pay attention to depression caused by ADT, don't fall into self pity. I found FT while on a PCa site and thank the Lord I did. Do your research. Personally, I regret not going with an implant much sooner. FWiW I am 75 and my wife is 55. Good luck

I ended up with Postate Cancer at age 47. Not what I was looking forward to in my prime. However it happened. I went the RP route instead of chemo and hormone therapy. I tend to have depression issues anyway as well as self esteem issues - and since I was young I didn't want to bombard myself with radiation which can cause issues later if it comes back OR if I need surgery later - yadda yadda. On to the meat of the issue I can adress - #3.
I was also quite large prior to cancer. Here's the thing. Would you rather be alive and smelling sweet fresh air and living on, or the alternative? I got out of Cancer free and clear - and loss some dick size. Thats a small price to pay IMO. I developed Peyronies as well thinning (just a bit) and length loss as well as curvature. The Peyronies was being exaserbated by VED. So that didn't help. After a year of zero natural erections and super painful injections I bit the bullet and got my implant on Monday (12/9).
PreCancer: 7.5 x 6.25
PreImplant: 6.5x5.5 or so
PostImplant / Pre Cycling / Pre Inflation (flaccid): 4.5x5
I went AMS 700 CX due to the Peyrones. Luckily my healing is going very well. Now - I'm no where NEAR my original pre-cancer size, but after a YEAR of no penetrative sex and limp dick jacking off, I'm DONE with that. I'd happily sacrifice even my pre-implant size for a penis that WORKS. Now...I may get lucky and with what I calculate I MAY get back to 6x6 with my current implant - if I'm lucky and things align. If not - more likely I'll be about 5.5x5.5. Still a respectible size and I will continue on living my life with a functioning dick and not look back - after all I'm not heading in that direction!!!
Absolute BEST of luck to you sir!
