Drs on the forum?

Just a question, do any of the Drs visit the forum here just to see what kind of issues, questions, etc... are being asked by people? You know just to see what kind of issues are currently happening and of course to see if anyone is complaining on their surgery? Always wondered that it might be a good source for the Drs to glean information from just like we do.

I think some do, others not. I saw some study that analysed FT posts.

I won't drop the doc's name, but after a critical post about him, I stumbled upon a new YouTube upload where they explained their position. Makes me think some are either reading these posts or at least doing some searches with their names.

I believe that every high volume doctor or doctor's representative takes a look at FT every so often. Just as they would check their Google or Yelp reviews every so often. It's human nature to see what people are saying, and FT is where many of their eventual patients start learning about the whole process. After seeing something online about implants this is where I ended up after Googling for more info, and this is where I learned the most.
I think the board rules prohibit them from commenting though-- "we cannot allow any appearance of advertising or promoting of any business, corporation, or medical practice. The IRS does watch us! "

Some of them (or their people) look. I think one responded outside of FT to an angry billing/insurance post someone made on here a few months ago and resolved it.

Back 10 or more years ago this board had a moderator and when I was considering my doctor, he told me the well-known doctor I used had been caught setting up a number of bogus user accounts to promote his self. He also attacked anyone who posted bad experiences with him. That is one that has been confirmed. That doctor or any other can advertise to the left of this page. Just like some have done.

Its in the past. I'm not sure its revelent now. I think its been posted plenty before now for those that want to research it.
My dr does know about FT. Confirmed what most of us know. Men come here that have trouble. But lots more never have trouble. His lead nurse admitted that she had visited it before. But if you think about it. The majority of them won't learn a darn thing from FT. So why waste their time?

Newbie443, when I first joined FT. I got all fired up for him to do my surgery. Watched all of his YouTube videos. His constant salesmanship during surgery turned me off quickly. His chatter just rubbed me wrong. Word of mouth in messages from FT members is what clued me to my dr. Strangely, I only think one of them mention him in their signature line.
Several years ago we had a list of top drs on here. Mine was mentioned because he had been involved in some academic research. No mention was made of his surgical prowess. He runs a full urology practice. Does BS implants only, one day a week. He is very time organized.
No regrets at all. If it fails? I'll use him again for another CX. I have his assistants email address saved. She can do a quick office exam to assess the issue then setup an appointment with the dr if needed. And I can get to his office in 30 minutes.

Very true. Doctors and nurses don't have much to learn from this forum. If you're an M.D. with years of experience, you've already seen it all in the operating and exam room, in medical school, in journal articles, etc. There's not much to be gained from anecdotal unscientific experiences of random guys on the internet.
