Infection Risk grows with each surgery?

Dear team,
what is your take on the risk of infection getting higher with each surgery, be it due to revision or infection itself.
I have read something like ~50% infection risk after a certain (single-digit) number of surgeries.
The younger guys certainly will require several surgeries in their lifetime.
What is the evidence on this and would it discourage you from an implant?
