I have a Rigico Infla 10 AX which has never worked since it was implanted in April 2023, I can only get about 5 or 6 pumps on it before the globe gets so hard that even with two hands I can't compress it, my penis is nowhere where it needs to be at this point to do anything.
I was assured by the surgeon that with use it would 'break in' and this problem would resolve itself but this has proved not to be the case. The demo implant that I was shown at consultation did not do this.
My own feeling is that it must be the valve in the pump assembly not opening properly, but I could be wrong. When I press the deflation button it goes back to flat very quickly so that part of the valve is working OK.
I have told the Urology Dept where it was done and they have told me to 'bring it in and we'll have a look', but my other problem is that this year I have had to have 3 months off for a total knee replacement and I can't be having any more major time off for at least 18 months.
Has anyone had to have the pump / valve of an inflatable device replaced and how big of a job was it, did they just go in through the scrotum, replace the valve/pump part and then stitch you up, or did they have to replace the pipe from the reservoir?
If its just a cut to the scrotum and a couple of stitches, I could cover that with leave, but I am reluctant to make an appointment if I'm just going to have to postpone, because they are scarce and somebody else will be waiting to be seen.
