Hello, my first consultation is coming up on January 30th, how many doctors did you see before you made your decision?

I went for 3 opinions. The first two were both doable. I saved Perito in Miami for last and I was fortunate that I even got to see him in such a short time. Back to those other 2 DR's. They both said that they could do the surgery however they did point out some severe issues I had and both recommended Perito who I was seeing anyway. I think he's done some ten thousand of these surgeries and after 2 years Coloplast Titan all is very, very well. I'd simply suggest using one of the top guys who implant or who only implant and nothing else.

I visited just one high volume doctor, and scheduled an appointment within a couple of weeks. I think he happened to have a last-minute opening that he needed to fill.

I had read lots and lots here, and had really decided that I wanted an implant. Before the appointment, I made a long list of questions, but for most of them, I realized that I had either read the answer here, or else it wouldn't make a difference one way or the other. I wanted a reliable cock, and so it didn't matter if it would stay pointed high, like my previous version, or straight out like most of the implant photos I've seen. I could ask, but it wouldn't affect my choice, so why bother.

Happy customer.

I met with a Kaiser urologist and quickly realized I had more info than he did, thanks to a few months on FT and internet research. When he held out my penis and said "this is what you can expect" that was it. Left and never looked back. Kaiser would have cost me a $200 copay.

Called a local high volume Northern CA doc. His staff was so difficult and dismissive I didn't have a good feeling about the doc. If he allowed his staff to act that way I didn't want anything to do with him. (since that time, others on FT have had a similar experience, although others have used him and been happy)

Contacted Dr. Clavell because I have family in Houston and could make a trip to and from Houston without other family members wondering why. Not only is he highly regarded here on FT, his staff was great and after my first consultation he addressed all of my questions and I appreciated his manner and friendship.

I paid out of pocket for Dr. Clavell, literally over 100x what Kaiser would have cost me, but I'm not shopping for the low cost provider when my penis and a knife are involved.

I went with the first I met - Dr. Segal at Chesapeake Urology. Highly respected guy, he's done a lot of these implants and specializes in Men's Sexual Health. Plus - he's local. I had thought about going to Eid or Clavel but...they aren't local and if something goes wrong - I wanted someone nearby. I don't regret my decision at all either as he's been very supportive and responsive.

The first doc I saw referred me to the doc who did my surgery. I had no idea what I was getting into. Had not found FT yet. Lucky for me my doc had done many implants and was highly regarded. Couldn't be happier with the results.

The first guy I went to I was not impressed with in any way, shape or form.
He was simply the guy UCLA referred me to and I felt like I was at a McDonald's drive thru dealing with him

Luckily, I found this site and one of the brothers told me to see Dr. Jeffrey Loh-Doyle at USC Keck.

So happy I went with him.
But, MAKE SURE the guy implanted you really knows his stuff and is a world class surgeon.
He should be well reviewed and highly respected in this field..

Best wishes

I would say if you can afford it, go with one of the more noted Drs that are recommended on here. Go with one who is close to you or has an opening in his schedule you like. My first Dr who did my first two implants I liked extremely well and he's a great guy, but after the second failure and having to fight insurance for over a year to get a resolution, this time I decided I would go-to Dr Hakky ( he's about 2 hours away with Atlanta traffic.) Now Dr Hakky is a really great guy - makes you feel like you've been best friends all your life and explains thing in detail and he asks questions of you and doesn't mind answering any. The appt i had you're not rushed and actually I think I was there 2 hours. I have no experience with any of the other top implanters, but if I was close to them they would have been my choice this go around.

Hello, thanks all for replying, first consult was basically a spring board to meet with the Dr who actually does the surgeries. But then insurance changes, so I will need to go to a different practice….

Can anyone share their experience or know which doctors at KI Med ( Kansas City) do these surgeries?

Also what are some questions I should be asking? Thanks for your replies…
