is LGX even worth it?

I'm scheduled for surgery in 2 weeks with Dr. Patel and we settled on AMS but he made it seem that they would decide at the time of surgery whether i'll get LGX or CX. Initially, i liked the idea of LGX, but now doing more research CX may be better for me.

Based on my stretch length of 13.25 cm (pubic bone pressed in to tip), dr thought i might be around 21 cm or maybe more of implant. He mentioned that the LGX is the workhorse between 18-21 cm, but in those men that need 21 cm or more implant he prefers the CX. When asking why, he feels it does more more rigidity compared to the LGX at the 21 cm size, and one of the reasons that at the 24 cm measurement then don't have LGX, only CX. I didn't really understand all of this until I did the background research, and now I'm opt to tell him that i just want the CX no matter what.

What y'all think? Am I overthinking this and should I just like the doctor do what he does??

I am of the opinion that if you trust your doctor to do this surgery you should trust him/her to select the device best for you. I think the doctor will do a better job with a device they believe is best for you over one they think is not right for you. As far as rigidity my 21cm LGX is fine. I have talked to doctors that do not like it. My doctor selected the LGX for me.

Trust your doctor to do the right thing and stop overthinking this.

Yes, the 18 cm LGX appears to be one of the more rugged, least problematic devices. You don’t hear many guys on here ever complaining about problems with it.

I celebrated my 5th anniversary of trouble free bionicness with the 18 cm LGX about ten days ago.

My stretched length (depending on who was pulling) was either 16 or 16.5 cm.

I ended up needing 23 cm of implant to fill me up.

Not a problem 18 cm LGX and 5 cm of RTE.

Rigidity is not an issue. I can’t envision anything stiffer or harder.

But I am at about the limit for the 18 cm LGX. If I have to get a revision down the road…..it’ll probably be a CX. Apparently after years of inflate/deflate/stretching of tissues any revision will be 1-3 cm larger than original. That puts me at 24-26 cm, which is CX territory.

They installed the LGX. It’s been better than advertised. I’m not sure what else to tell you.

Ballhog, I have the AMS LGX 18cm with 3cm rear tips. My internal measurements were 11cm distal and 10cm proximal; I'm not sure but if my distal would have been longer, they might have went with the CX. My docs go to implant was the CX but during surgery the doc and the Boston Scientific rep made the game time decision to go with the LGX instead.
I don't have any problems with it, but to make it super hard I need to pump it all the way up until I can't pump any more, for me it takes around 25 full wall to wall pumps and then after some stretch I can get in about 5 more pumps to 30 total.
My wife likes it super hard, so I have to make sure that I get it there.
If I only pump 20 pumps, it seems to be a little too bendable to have good penetration, but I might try it sometime and ask my wife if we can experiment a little.
I've heard that the CX is stiffer and takes less pumps to get there, but I'll never know not unless mine breaks and I get a CX with a revision.
I've had my LGX for 3 years and it has worked great and my wife doesn't have any complaints

Trust your doc, they'll install the right implant for you

I also have the AMS LGX 18cm plus 5 cm RTE and am very, very happy with it.
I can't compare anything else with my implant, however it looks and works great.

It's round, not oval, gets super-hard, girls love it an I love it too.
All the best

dan, what's your erect inflated length. I have a 24cm titan. I'm about 7.5 inches erect. Yours looks great. just wandering.

I am about 20 cm lenght, you should have nerly the same, as I have 18cm LGX plus 5cm RTE, no?

Let the doctor decide - do tell him your preference but let him know that ulimately its up to him. Why? It depends on what they find when they get in there. If you ARE more than 21cm of an implant you definitely want the implant that is going to work for you. The CX (which I have) works just fine and while the LGX does expand in girth AND length - it has its own challenges. CX DOES expand a bit in length --- all implants do to an extent LGX is the only one that does both (LGX - Length Girth eXpansion).

Think of it like this -- no one implant is any better or worse than the other - they are meant to treat different conditions in different ways - for each patient each implant is going to do something different. An AMS 700 CX 18cm+3RTE is going to work / look differently in someone who requires an AMS 700 LXG 21cm 0RTE.

Your doctor seems to be knowledgeable and flexible enough to select the right implant model for you. I agree that LGX is the right choice between 18-21cm. 21cm CX (plus RTE). From 24cm and above, I would go for Titan.

My CX needs more than 30 wall-to-wall pumps to reach the max stiffness. It is like that since I got implanted. I wish getting hard in just a few pumps. I am not sure why that difference, as others reach the max with the same pump with half of this number.
