Canceling surgery experiences?

Postby Donkeykong » Tue Jan 21, 2025 8:17 pm

Has anybody charged their mind or freaked out and cancelled implant surgery?

If so, were they upset at you?

Did you eventually decide to go back and have surgery after all?

Did you regret it?

Or did you just make peace with prior treatments like injections despite their problems?

I've cancelled twice, but 2-3 weeks in advance both times.'

I don't know if anyone was upset, but they were professionals
Born 6/15/74. I have substantial venous leak with fairly severe hour-glassing, but no hard plaques. My urologist is Dr. Laurence Levine who performed a Doppler Ultrasound and diagnosed me with VL in 2020. Surgery scheduled for Coloplast Genesis 5/19/25

Are you concerned that they might not let you schedule surgery again with them if you change your mind back?

I cancelled once before. If I cancel again and then changed my mind back I would feel too bad to even try rescheduling, so that would be the end with the particular doctor. It is a lot of work for staff every time.

Answers: yes, I cancelled last summer. No, they weren't upset (I gave them 3 weeks or a month to fill slot). Yes, I eventually had surgery but with another doctor. By regret it, if you mean cancelling, no I don't regret it--it was too soon for me. If you mean regret getting the surgery, I'll find out. There weren't any effective treatments for me and it was this or give up on penetrative sex.

I wouldn't make a habit of it, but you aren't the first guy to get cold feet.
