1 Year Checkup...Is it needed?

Everything is working well with the 3 piece suit, so I ask, is a 1 year checkup needed? I haven't read anything about maintenance or a checkup. Having no problems, but don't want to overlook anything. Everything is working just great.

Bigdog, I don't think it is needed if everything seems to be working correctly; I didn't have a year followup with my doc.

I had no follow-ups after 2 weeks.
They even switched Uros on me then.

I go back every year for a checkup.
I just had my appointment last week (a little late this year).
My pump was stuck for a couple of hours on the 1st, so we talked about sticky pump and how to resolve it.

Could you explain what "sticky pump" is?

I too didn't have a followup. Everything seemed fine to me after one year and now i'm in over 2 years and all is good.

My pump was too hard to pump. I squeezed really hard, but it didn't compress.
My doctor explained that their are a lot of small parts in the pump, and one thing that can cause them to seize up is cold. I live in New England. I confirmed with him that it was cold on January 1st, and I had been outside a fair amount of the day.
He said that in the future I should take a warm bath to loosen up the parts. He also reminded me to fully inflate and deflate a few times a week. And he suggested that once I fully deflate, I should pump once to activate the pump.

My last follow up was at 5 1/2 weeks post. Although I did see my doc twice in the third month to fix a deflate issue.
At 5+ years all is well and I'm happy with the results.

Thanks for all the feedback. As they say, "Leave well enough alone". I think I will do just that. I do have to add one thing or commit. As many say, "Why did I take so long to get the implant"? Don't wait guys.....It was smooth sailing.

I saw my doc maybe 3 or 4 times — can't remember for sure — in the weeks after the surgery, and now I haven't seen him again in the two and half years since. Hadn't occurred to me that I should, and he never asked me to. If I have any questions or concerns I'll certainly call or make an appointment.
