How long out of work?

I’m thinking of going bionic. Tired of the pills and injections! I just have a desk job. How long would I have to be out of work for and is the surgery always overnight in the hospital?

Thanks!

Mine was outpatient - I took 1 week - and I work from home - just because I knew sitting was going to be a litteral pain. Depends on your tollerance for pain though - some people could probably be back at the desk in 3 days - others two weeks. I had my surgery during our slowest time of the year (Holidays - surgery was on Dec 9th).

I stayed overnight in the hospital after the surgery.

I was out of work for two weeks. In part, this was because my doctor left me 60% inflated for those two weeks. I needed to see him to check on my progress and deflate my implant before I could go back to work.

Mine was out-patient, checked in at 6 AM and was headed home around 1 PM. I'm retired so work didn't matter, but my recovery was a tough one. Took me about 4 weeks to tolerate sitting on anything except the soft couch.

Mine was outpatient. In at 6am out by 12:30. Stayed in Dallas overnight and wife drove me back home 350 miles next morning. At 10 days was back in his office getting drain and staples removed. Deflated and sent home. Could have made it back to work at 2 weeks but I considered Mine an exceptionally easy recovery. Also was done infrapubic which is definitely an easier recovery.

That is a consideration for me as well. I’m considering surgery in March. Still working. My job isn’t hard labor or heavy lifting. Split time on my feet and in a chair. Hoping I’ll be in good enough shape I be there in 10 days to 2 weeks.

Both my prior surgeries were penoscrotal. I took a full week off and was back at work ( I do drive a lot and don't have much heavy lifting involved ). First one could have gone back after about 4 days, second one I pretty much needed the full week because we had some work that needed to be done which would have been difficult in my condition at the time. Both outpatient, and both had no drains, removed catheter at home the following afternoon. But everyone is different

Its been long enough that some memories are fuzzy. I do know that the day after, my wife drove us 450 miles to stay in our condo. I did pump gas at least three times. I did drive about 1 mile each way once there to buy groceries on day two. So I walked around pushing a shopping cart. I was retired so working wasn't an issue. I had to lean over the toilet, push my dick down & stick my ass back to pee. Sitting on a couch wasn't generally bad. Maybe shift positions after very long time. The discharge nurse gave me an extra ice bag so I used lots of ice. I was well stocked with big bottles of ibuprofen & tylenol. I tried to take them along wth my prescribed pain meds on schedule. If you delay a dose, it is a lot harder to subdue the pain. I think day 6 was the worst for pain. I started to worry I'd run out of pills. I had a 7 day supply. Strangely after they ran out my pain subsided a lot. But I did have a few in reserve from some dental work. The OTC meds worked ok from then on.
I rated my recovery about in the middle of the experiences that I had read about on here. If I ever need a revision I won't hesitate to get it. I'm very happy with my outcome.

My infrapubic implant surgery was on a Thursday morning and I went home about 1 pm. Although the swelling and bruising were significant and I was inflated partially, I was able to go back to work on Monday. Nothing strenuous, standing and sitting. I wore tight underwear and a sweater so nothing was obvious.
