Surgery scheduled, but now something works

I have a surgery scheduled, and to prepare for it I was using a vacuum device. It comes with a runber collar to make it airtight against the base of the shaft.

But I found that I don't need the actual pump. If I just put the rubber collar around the base of my dick, without the pump, with visual stimulation I can easily get and keep a very engorged erection for as long as I want. It seems the rubber happens to be just snug enough to let blood in and then keep it from leaking out. I can probably just cut out the center part of it to get something I can use with partners. My dick does go a little numb so it's not perfect. Regular cockings that go behind the balls don't work for me.

What would you do in this situation? Do I cancel the surgery? It seems like an implant would be overkill for a problem that has such a simple fix. But I haven't tried using a ring like this with partners yet and might not have a chance before the surgery date. Also, the numbness does bother me a bit but maybe that is a solvable problem.

I also wonder if stitching the tunica slightly at the base of the shaft to make it a little more snug might not be a better solution and I wonder if anybody would do that kind of surgery.

Hi DonkeyKong -- those sound like questions only you and your doctor can answer. If it were me, assuming that pushing the surgery out a month or two is doable, I'd at least get the medical question(s) answered so you don't have to second-guess yourself later. But that's just my personal opinion, and obviously I don't know anything specific about your situation.
