How to know you've reached 100% inflation? (AMS 700 CX)

Just had my first post-op appointment today where I was instructed on how to inflate. So I pumped and pumped and my penis was certainly hard but is there any definitive way to tell it's fully inflated? At some point it seemed like I could no longer do full pumps and only little mini ones. I'm also worried I'm damaging the device by continually trying to pump. Doc also said to always push the deflate button first before pumping. Anyone know why that's the case? I forgot his reasoning.

once you can not squeeze the bulb pump anymore you have reached full inflation. Don't go any further as it could damage the tubing.

Your prosthesis is bran new, you’re going to have months of enjoying the growth, stretching, the pumps will increase and the number of pumps will change for a year or more because all the hardware softens up ie it will change character. Enjoy the journey brother

After you've fully recovered there is not a way to know exactly what's fully pumped. That's because for AMS there's a bypass valve that releases some saline from the cylinders to stop men from over-pumping. 29 pumps might be the max but pump 30 releases some fluid and there's no way to know that.

If I'm really trying to get max I'll pump a bunch and notice when I hit the bypass, then pump a few times based on feel but it's only a somewhat educated guess.
