Not 10 months post-op reservoir lineside from pump failure!
Just barely 10 months post-op and last night the bulb goes flat. The cylinders stayed hard so I knew it wasn’t on that side of the pump. Is there a way to replace the cylinder line without a full revision being done? This will make my 3rd failure of the Coloplast Titan in some way or another and 4th revision if a full revision is needed. I’ve still not heard back from Coloplast about why the last ones failed. I’m thinking of changing my surgeon as well!

Sounds like you are at the last of seline? Thats all you get to pump, happes to a lot of us. Maybe a larger implant next time
for some of us. Further testing needed.

The problem is after I released the saline from the cylinders the next time I tried to pump up I couldn’t get a full erection, it only pumped up under half way and the next time after that while showing my wife I only got a quarter of the way before it went flat. There’s got to be a leak somewhere on the reservoir side of the pump!

Well should be under warranty anyway, and a full revision lower the risk on an infection
Hard flaccid syndrome since 2019. Trying to get better with conservative treatments but an implant is on my radar

what do you mean about full revision lowering the risk of infection?

When u open and close stuff, its no good. Bacteria cuold deposit on implant and shit. I heard is better to remove the whole thing a put a new one

I was also told that bacteria "colonize" on implants, including others like shoulder and knee replacements, and that it is better to replace them, or somehow mitigate the bacteria, if opened back up. I don't have direct experience with this but that's what a Dr explained to me so may be worth asking about.

That really sucks, my Titan failed a year ago, hole in tubing feeding left cylinder, replaced with AMS LGX, my question is with all your revisions have you still got the old reservoirs still implanted, most leave them in. I asked my surgeon to remove the Titan reservoir and said he would look to see if it was possible, it was. But I would definitely want a whole new implant, you are going to get cut anyway. Good luck to you

Re: Not 10 months post-op reservoir lineside from pump failure!
With each of my revisions I’ve received a full swap out of the entire system;pump, reservoir and cylinders!
I was hoping this time around that they could just replace the reservoir line because the cylinders and pump are full functioning. The incisions for those are small and should be less risk for infections.
