Hi,

I plan on getting an implant this year. I am having a tough time deciding between both. There are some very good malleable implant journals on this thread but from the peer review literature I have read, the conclusion is that inflatable devices are superior. That being said, they seem to break down earlier.

I know that your implant choice will vary depending on your needs and priorities but which one seems better in general from your point of view? I am in my mid 30s so having a ton of revisions isn't too appealing

I asked my urologist to explain the difference in layman’s terms.

He said an inflatable is like a Mercedes, while a malleable is like a Toyota.

There’s no doubt that the Mercedes is superior.

If you’re very young, you’ll likely experience multiple revisions in your implant career, so why not experience both in your implant journey?

I’m adventurous, and I plan to experience both in my lifetime. At the moment, I'm a Toyota guy

The inflatables are superior and give you control of rigidity, may possibly help you regain length and increase girth. Yes they are more prone to needing replacements due to parts failure. The malleable will not increase length or girth and since you have a lot of years use there’s the possibility of erosion.

My surgeon told me that the chance of erosion is virtually identical between the IPP and MPP, the main issue being quality of placement.

I was told the same thing about the chances of erosion between the two of them.

Hey, I had 4 IPP's fail me in 4 years, but to do it all over again, I would still try the first one and hope like hell it lasted, and to do that I guess I would be super careful with it, the lifespan of it comes down to how many use's, (cycles of inflations and deflations) you put it through, then when you go to use it be careful, don't get to rough with anything, don't let your woman pull, tug, jack, jump on it, slap it around, or have too much fun with it at all,,,, and you should be fine for awhile until just some stupid thing happens like a hose leak, pump stuck, coupler leak, or a dozen other things that could go wrong with the IPP's many parts.
Or you could just go with the old plain jane reliable 24/7 always ready malleable and explore your wild side and make your woman shake with excitement without the fear of failure on the back of your mind.
And in all honesty the IPP will fail one day, everyone here knows that, and you have to be ready with a plan for when it does fail, and by that I mean to make sure your surgeon is ready to get you in right away when it does happen, then you have to make sure your ready mentally to go thru it all over again, because when it fails the emotional and mental health part of it can effect both you and your partner.
Your a young man, every part of life is about choices, so make them decisions wisely.

I don’t have that fancy girth expansion feature in my toy, but my wife screamed in the bedroom with 3 orgasms yesterday. And no, I don’t have that Mercedes cappuccino machine either, but my Toyota is totally worth it!!

Don't forget Toyota makes an Avalon which is their top of the line compares to a Mercedes just fine if not better. Implants like everything else in life are subject to opinions ..

Thedriver speaks truth. And what you're realizing about revisions is exactly why I went with the MPP.
