How long did you have to keep your dick pointing upwards post op?

Postby LGXDownunder » Thu Mar 20, 2025 3:34 am

My uro has me 20% inflated for 6 weeks until activation, and I'm now 2 weeks in. Looks and feels a bit more than 20% but probably isn't.
So uncomfortable getting around like this together with associated healing discomfort.
I'm over it, but anticipating the reward at the end is keeping me going.
I'm wearing stretchy but fairly tight briefs that help keep my junk in position but it's still awkward.
Letting everything hang doesn't feel that much better anyway. So I continue to point skyward .

How long did everyone else have to put up with similar and what did you do to cope, or at least take your mind off it?

Now dealing with recovery.

After about 1.5 years, I still keep it upwards or at least up-sidewards. As recommended by my doc.

I never wear it downwards as before the surgery. It’s now uncomfortable with this big and relatively hard dick.

Result: No dog ears and good erection angle.
41y/o, VL due to Finasteride use 17 years ago, PDE5i lost effect over the years, nothing worked anymore.
Implanted 18 Aug 2023 (while I was 40y/o), Titan 20cm + 1cm RTE, Germany

LGXDownunder, these urologists talk a lot of chatter, it's not true that it left you swollen at 20% if you're uncomfortable, 20 even 30% is when you deflate it completely, it always remains 20/30%, if you feel uncomfortable, at least you have it at 50/60%, it's better to have it facing upwards for the angle, and also for comfort for me, having a dick facing downwards with the prosthesis is not as comfortable as having a natural dick facing downwards

Too Long :!:

LGX, I didn't get deflated till my 6 week appointment to have device training and cleared for sex. It was a pain in the butt, keeping an inflated dick concealed and pointing up for that amount of time. I tried to use jock straps but they didn't help much. I just started using my jockey sport bikini briefs that I wear under my road bike cycling bibs and wearing loose sweat pants. My wife would complain about me showing too much :!:

LGX, even though I was cleared to have sex at 6 weeks, I still had a good bit of pain and discomfort. I waited till week 8 to have sex and it was still not that great and it hurt like heck afterwards. Don't let that discourage you, we're all different and heal differently, so hopefully you won't have the same problem when you're cleared.

Keep hanging in there,
Maybe use it for a towel rack!
Just kidding

I really didn't keep my dick pointed to any specific direction. But I was left bandaged and semi-inflated until five+ weeks out. After being deflated my dick just kind of slowly went back to hang down my left leg like it always did.

Thank you Frank, that's good to know.

My penis was always downwards. No idea why you’re leaving it upwards or why people do it? The implant will reach above your belly button and poke into your chest when sitting upright

My uro's plan for me is basically the same as you. I'm both looking forward to the activation and apprehensive at the same time. I did try a sex toy version of a jockstrap last week that we had lying around, which was sort of OK, but not that great. Also considered cycling knicks as I have a few pairs of those. OK on the bike outdoors, but for general wear they are too bulky/sweaty for the current heat and humidity of our seemingly never ending summer. I'll probably just stick with the stretchy boxer briefs for now, although coincidentally I'm actually wearing a pair of Jockey bikini briefs today. An older pair with the very soft waistband. I also wear cheap bikini briefs at night. Right now I probably could use it as towel rack . I've noticed that my wife keeps staring at it if I walk around naked. I don't know if she is just curious or trying to send me a message ;).

Wow, that seems a long time bandaged. Mine were taken off less than 24 hours post op (thankfully). Was there some extenuating reason for it?
Yes, the partial inflation for 5 or 6 weeks seems pretty common practice, although I've read accounts on here of much earlier activation.
I'm also hoping to return to a more or less normal flaccid. Happy if I become a shower, which looks possible atm.

I wish it was that big to reach my chest . My IPP is continuously partly inflated, quite erect although not fully extended, and pretty hard. It is way too uncomfortable in any other position than up unless walking around naked, in the shower and so on. For the same reason it's very difficult to walk around in public unless pointing up and flattened against your abdomen with underwear or using some other method. I think you have a quite large MPP? In which case you're always at, or close to, your erect length but not completely hard unless you bend it into position? I imagine that would be difficult and uncomfortable to have pointing up, and also not necessary?
